New year, new goals.

Last year I did the unimaginable - I ran my first, and second, 5k. I am someone who always said I hated running, but in truth, I just didn't think I could do it. It was hard and the concept of running 3 miles seemed impossible. But I did it, and gained a pride and awe in myself at what I can actually do. This was the first time I think I ever completely accomplished the goal I set out for, but didn't really think I would do. It's given me hope, too. And a passion for that feeling again. ...

I've also learned how to enjoy the trip, as they say. I learned that as I was running, I could just feel the strength in my body, and be happy about that. I stopped caring so much about my weight and caring more about how I felt, strong and healthy when I was eating well and running.

I hit a fairly big road block mid-summer and went through some major life changes that knocked me back down some. But I'm back up and on my way again. This year, my goal is the Warrior Dash at the end of August. There's plenty of time to get back into running, hone it and work on my strength as well. I will need them all for this race.

My Goals:
To simply learn to live in a way that is healthy and sustainable. I want to lose weight, but I want to still feel good while doing it too.

My Program:
Watching my calories to eat enough, but not too much. I tend to do one or the other. Continue running, adding miles, and add more strength training.

Personal Information:
I live in North Carolina, work full-time and go to school part-time. I'm married to the love of my life, and have 3 kids, 19, 15 and 5. I'm all about my family-they are what bring me my joy.
