A year of Will-Ness

Ounce by ounce the pounds have crept on me...now it's time to do something about it. I have pledged to lose 35 pounds this year. Friends are sponsoring me for each pound. This money will go to The Optimist Theatre to support their free Shakespeare in the park program. It will be a year of mindful living.

I see humor in most of my daily life’s situations so I try to be funny most of the time. I believe that it is mentally stimulating and spiritually uplifting to try view my life in a funny manner. I play a humor brain game and it makes me happy. I try to be funnier than I look, which is a huge task.

All of my attempts at humor are true and I view my style as a machine gun approach; I will put a number of attempts out there and hope that someone besides me finds at least one funny. My problem is I find them all funny.

I think the author Mark Twain said it best when he wrote, "The best way to cheer yourself is to try to cheer someone else up."

No I'm not running it this year. Had to space out my runs a little bit - but I am planning on running the Bucktown 5K in the fall and the Hot Chocolate 15K. I start half marathon training in a few weeks :) No race picked out for this year, but I plan on signing up for a half in 2012 at some point!
