December 2009. Weight: 145 lb. Bicycling!
I have about forty pounds that I want to lose. I've been wanting to do this for a couple years now, but I never could get myself together enough to make it happen due to school & research, stress, lack of a healthy schedule, depression and lack of sleep. The fear of getting hypertension and pre-diabetes, and not fitting my pants or tops anymore has made me want to fix my weight and my lifestyle.
I've decided to break up my goals into smaller ones. Right now, I want to work on losing 14 pounds (get down to 160) by Oct. 21, 2008. Then I'll set another weight goal. It is so disheartening to make a little progress, and yet have this seemingly impossible goal looming in the distance. I will be going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week in the mornings, track my food & exercise. Then I'll see where I am on Oct. 21!
Wow, I just read the above paragraph. Well now I'm 157lb. as of Sept. 22, 2009. Eating more foods at home rather than eating out helped. Also walking & biking a lot. The 174-157=17lb makes a big difference in my day to day feeling. I just don't feel as big. Looking forward to losing more & getting healthier!
Dec. 2009: Weight = 145 lb! Looking great!
May 2010: Weight = 152 lb. Gained a little weight from a new relationship and external stress from school/work and some not great eating habits. Turning it around though and I'll be back to 145 lb soon enough. Then down, down, down!
June 2011: Weight = 177 lb. Damn it. I'm freaking fat again and worried about blood pressure & health. After switching careers (again) I am now on a stable direction and am ready to be serious.
1. Go to they Gym 3-4 times a week.
2. Wake up early in the mornings.
3. Walk everyday for 30 minutes.
4. Make wise food choices: Grains, fruits, nuts/beans, & veggies!
1. Walk 30min/day or go to the Gym.
2. Track Food & stay within nutrient ranges.
3. Drink Water 8c./day!
4. Get up & get out IN THE MORNING!

Welcome to SP you'll love it. The support and motivation are unmatchable, it really helps you to keep in check with your goals because you'll find lots in common with everyone here. I've almost been at it for a year and out of it all I have made some wonderful new friends. If you haven't already...check into joining a Challenge Team (there is a Spring Fling 5% Challenge comming up), it's really helpfull to get you going strong and the teams are smaller and a bit more personal. It can be a hoot if your on the right team! (again I may be a bit bias, but I'm on Danger Dogs team and they rock!)

I'm really proud of the weight you've lost (not to sound too much like a metal detector commercial) AND how we've both changed our lives around! There's always more we can do better, but we've come a long way, baby (not to sound too much like a cigarette ad). Love you!!
