It Is Time For Me- Time For A Change

I am Happily Married to my best friend for 36 years now. I have never been what you call outgoing kind of person but I do love to try new things from time to time. I love to visit the mountains and do some walking trails when we visit.

I saw this site from a friend who posted about it in a support group that I belong to.

I saw this site from a friend who posted about it in a support group that I belong to.

years ago I lost weight and kept it off for a long time but as time went by and I had a accident that caused me to have to have back surgery and a disk removed little by little I gained some of that weight back.
Due to the back surgery it is very hard for me to do many of the exercises and have to adapt what I do to what is comfortable and at the same time not cause further injury to myself.
With my back injury I had a nerve pinched and had major nerve damage so surgery was done in order to keep me from losing the use of my legs so I have only 60 percent of feeling in my left leg, but have learned to adapt and just be careful when walking outdoors as I do not always feel what is under my foot.

So when I chose what program to do in order to get the extra weight off I came across the Walk at Home program and decided to check it out. At first I did not think that it would be much fun but I was impressed with the fact that the moves are not difficult and it was low impact so there was no jumping around as with my back I can not do.

Well I finally got motivated and made a decision that I am going to do this and I am going to succeed because I am going to do it for me!
So I began in June and started doing just a couple miles each day, then added a little walk outdoors a couple times a week and began to see myself start firming up.

So I began to really get serious and began to count calories, That is when I came across this site and fell in love with it.

I have already lost 8 pounds so far and still have quite a ways to go but I will get there.

I try to work out at least 5 days a week and sometimes I add more as I have the time.

For the first time in my life I really enjoy working out. I have had back surgery so finding a program that I could do without risk of injury was a challenge but I began with the Walk At Home Program with Leslie Sansone and I like them as I can do the parts that I can and if it come to a part that I can't like the high impact then I can adjust that to fit my goals. But I would like to add that I have began to do the gentle jog as my back is getting stronger as I work out.

I have 8 grandchildren and I really did not want them to refer to me as "fat". And to tell the truth I had to take a hard look at myself to see how Idle I had become!

Eye opener's are good for you , especially when you give them to yourself.

My Goals:

My main goal it to be a size smaller by The Holiday's!

Then my goal is to able to do light jogging from time to time!

Also I guess I need to prove to me I can as my kids don't think I can.

But my motto is this " I will do it for me" that is all that matters anyway.

Sometimes in life things kind of get out of balance and then we get out of balance, as Mother's we try to fix everything for everyone and then forget about ourselves.

This is my time, time to be me, to be the best me that I can be and enjoy myself, both is being active and in the best shape of my life.

I never liked exercise but I am determined to learn to love it!

My Program:

I walk each day a couple miles, and each day I rotate one of my Walk At Home dvd's. Some days I do more intense ones and some days I do the lighter ones but I make a habit to do between the 3 mile and 5 mile options.
These are good programs and I love them as they also include strength training and are fun. I feel if you like something you will continue to do that. Later I probably will add different things but now this is what I have chosen to do and it works for me.

Personal Information:
I am from Louisiana, and I am really what you call pure country!

I love to cook and read and am learning to love exercise! That is a first!

I have 2 children and 8 grandchildren!

I am married to my best friend for 36 years now.

Other Information:
I love to cook so now I am learning to invent new ways to make the things that my family loves in a different way and still be great tasting. I love to read and really like the Patricia Cornwell Books
