I was very thin growing up. I was into gymnastics and cheerleading. I was always so hyper that my parents had a hard time keeping up with me. I graduated high school wearing a size 3 (was probably smaller than that. I think there were no "0's" back then) and weighing less than 120 lbs at 5'7".

When I entered my twenties things changed. I was no longer active. I spent my days sitting in an office chair doing data entry and and most nights having drinks and way too much fast food. Before I knew it I weighed 180 pounds.

I joined sparkpeople and went from 180 down to 165 in a very short period of time...maybe a couple months. I guess I was so impressed with myself that I kind of gave in and started treating myself here and there and then all the time. I crept back up to 180 again.

I had just started Sparkpeople again and two weeks later I found out I was pregnant with my little girl. By the time I had her I weighed in at 223 lbs. Most of that weight came on in the last month, when my body ballooned up with water, covering my skin with stretch marks. My skin especially my ankles were like a memory foam mattress. If you pushed down on it, you could leave an indention of your fingers.

There were complications at the end of pregnancy and the doctor scheduled me to be induced 3 weeks early. I think the medicine was too strong for me because the contractions were so hard and frequent that the baby went into distress and Kaitlyn was born through emergency c-section.

She and I were released 3 days later weighing more than I did when I went in to have her; 230 lbs. I think this was due to the IV adding even more water to my already swollen body. I was bigger than I'd ever been in my life. I didn't even look like me. Looking in the mirror was like looking in a mirror at a fun house except it was no fun. When I saw the pictures from the hospital and from arriving home, I wanted to tear them up.

So I started eating 1200-1550 calories. Exercising was horrible at first. I'd get ten minutes in and have to stop. Adding all that extra weight into the equation with a girl that had uncontrolled asthma was awful. It would take almost an hour to stop wheezing after working out for only ten minutes.

So I made an appointment with my doctor and she put me on Advair, which I had taken before, for a month or so and then quit. So I never actually used it long enough for it to help. I stuck with it and after three months I was only using my rescue inhaler once or twice a day instead of a dozen or more times. As time went on I was using it less and less and the length of time I could exercise without being completely out of breath increased.

It took me about 10 months to go from 223 to 153 pounds. I hovered between 153-160 for nearly two years before the weight started coming on again.

We moved into a house with a pool and with a pool comes guests...and food...and drinks. So I crept up to 171 again by November of 2010. My pants were starting to get snug enough to give me a muffin top and some of them I couldn't even button without laying on the bed and holding my breath. So after a very unflattering picture that my ex husband probably accidentally took of my back while my little girl was posing, here I am again.

So here we go!

11-01-10 - 171
11-05-10 - 168.8 lbs
11-20-10- 171 lbs (eating badly while family was visiting)
Round Two! Fight! LOL
12-03-10 - 165.2
12-14-10 - 163.4
12-16-10 - 162.8
12-19-10 - 163.2 (Breathing is harder because of the cold weather. Haven't been able to work out as much the last few days.)
12-21-10 - 161.8
12-27-10 - 160.8
01-03-11 - 158.6
01-11-11 - 159.8 (hmmm...too much birthday cake and pizza perhaps?)
01-14-11 - 157.8 (Still sick, but forcing myself through Zumba)
01-25-11 - 156.4
01-27-11 - 155

wasn't tracking and little time for exercise = 6 lb weight gain
02-16-11- 161...yikes!
02-21-11 - 155.2 (shew...tough week...but feeling good)
03-17-11 - 156...but pants are looser...guess I'm building muscle. Been working my butt off...literally.
3-21-11 - 153.8

My Goals:
New goals 11-05-10

1. Let's push harder. Instead of a goal weight of 145, let's try 140.

2. Make sure to get enough iron and calcium.

3. No more midnight munching. If I feel ashamed of it, then it's probably not something I should be doing.

4. Eat within my calorie range 98% of the time.

5. Cut out regular soda. Why drink a 150 calorie can of soda when I could be using that for something I'd rather have to eat.

My Program:
I'm mixing it up. I do Zumba, boxing, walking, workout videos or hop on my elliptical. One of these days I'd like to start jogging or even running. But with a 3 year old, I have a hard time finding the time to go around the block on my own.

1200-1550 calories a day

No more soda, unless it's diet and less of those too.

Personal Information:
I have a little girl who is 3 years old.

I am 30, have a medium body frame and am 5'7".

I have asthma and terrible allergies so sometimes doing cardio can really take a toll on me.

I have a 2 cats and a pit/lab mix. I love animals and have always had some kind of pet all of my life even though my allergy doctor wishes I wouldn't.

I love to cook. A lot of family activities revolve around it, so it is hard sometimes to say no without hurting someone's feelings.

Hey, thanks for posting on the message board to my comment. Seems to me the way it is looking..the comment you made about the chips and the calories...I think they are talking about the broken pieces and crumbs at the bottom of the bag. If you want whole chips you can only have 3...LOL!! emoticon Have a great weekend.
