2015 Goals

Hi, I am Janette, and I will turn 55 years old in April 2015. I have been on SparkPeople, MyFitnessPal and some other sites and groups since May of 2013. I live with my boyfriend and his son that is 10 years old, in Escondido, CA. I had a 7 yr old Beagle/Terrier dog named Cali that I got when she was a small puppy. But she passed away in Nov 2014. Hi, I am Janette, and I will turn 55 years old in April 2015. I have been on SparkPeople, MyFitnessPal and some other sites and groups since May of 2013. I live with my boyfriend and his son that is 10 years old, in Escondido, CA. I had a 7 yr old Beagle/Terrier dog named Cali that I got when she was a small puppy. But she passed away in Nov 2014. Toward the end of 2013 we got a black lab/boxer named DD that was about 1 yr old at the time. The boy named her "DD" for "Dancing Dog" as she dances around a lot. And in Nov of 2014 we got a puppy that is just over one yr old that is a Dutch Shepherd mix that was already named Jamaica. I started My Fitness Pal and SparkPeople on Mother's Day Weekend, 2013 at 170 Lbs so I have been doing this for over a year now. My weight has been bouncing up and down a little bit all that time, but basically slowly going down. On April 1, 2014 I started the Dash Diet at 144.8 Lbs. The lowest I have got so far is 140 Lbs. But I have bounced back up a bit right now. I will probably keep going until I am around 130 Lbs or so. I ran my 1st 5 K in Sept 2013, something that I would have never thought of ever trying before I started this journey. I had a goal to get at least a part time job and I accomplished that the end of Jan 2015, I am back in the Financial Services industry. I just did my 52 hrs of continuing education at Kaplan college and I am getting ready to take my Life, Accident, and Health Insurance test to get my license in April.

My Goals for 2015 are:

1: To get down to some where around 130-125, I will decide as I get closer to my goal just exactly where I feel comfortable at. I want to get back into the red dress in my picture from 2004 and look good in it.

2: To work to get completely off my blood pressure medicine if possible. I was already able to just recently get it cut in half twice, so I am almost off of it. And if that is the best I can do I am okay with that.

3: To lower my weight and cholesterol level to hope it helps with my gallbladder and gallstone issue, which I have already done.

4: Eat more whole foods and less processed foods daily, which I am already doing now too.

5: Playing with or walking my dogs for at least 15 mins daily.

6: drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day, which I have already been doing.

7: getting at least 8 hours sleep nightly, which I have already really be trying to do.

8. exercising for at least 10 mins daily, which I have already been doing a lot more than 10 mins.

9. stretching every day, which I am doing even more of now to help my Scoliosis and oblique muscle issue.

10. Walking one more step every day, which I usually do.

11. weighing myself and logging it in at least once a month, I usually do it daily.

12. measuring myself and logging it in at least 4 times a year.

13. Checking into the site for at least 5 mins daily, I usually am on the site several times a day for way more than 5 mins each time.

14. And the Last one is to have a very Happy and Healthy New Year! This is the one that I have to work at the most, lol.

In May 2013, I started to count calories for the first time in my life and I am trying to exercise for at least 30 mins everyday. In April of 2014 I started the DASH Diet per my doctors.

Hey you......yes you,
stop being unhappy with yourself,
stop wishing you looked like someone else
or wishing people liked you as much as they like someone else,
stop trying to get attention from those who hurt you,
stop hating your body, your face, your face, your quirks..
love them for without those things you wouldn't be you
and why would you want to be anyone else? be confident
with who you are, smile..it'll draw people in.
If anyone hates you because you are happy with yourself,
then just say "screw it, my happiness will not depend on others anymore.
I'm happy because I love who I am. I love my flaws..I love my imperfections..
they make me "me" and "me" is pretty amazing"
