Welcome to my SP page.
All the wonderful success stories on SP have motivated me to take action NOW!
I have been dabbling at weight loss for 15 years now - too busy taking care of others, working, etc. to work at it seriously. When I was cleaning out some files I found a receipt dated 12 years ago from Weight Watchers. I weighed the same then as I do now! Over those 12 years I have tried numerous diets, and spent a lot of money to get some weight off but to no avail. I was convinced that I had some hormonal problem that prevented me from loosing weight. SP has shown me that I am not alone in this struggle and with dedication I will loose the weight!

My Goals:
My goal is to loose weight (40 lbs) in order to take the stress off my joints and hopefully decrease the pain of arthritis. I will attain this goal by April 2014. (My 65th Birthday!)

Goal for Autumn: Walk, Walk, Walk! Strength training 3 x per week and water aerobics 1 X week


My Program:
Work in Progress!
1. Drink 8+ glasses of water a day.
2. Eat a healthy balanced diet. (Monitor daily)
3. Track food and exercise.
4. Journal / Blog about experience.
5. Try some new healthful recipes.
6. Stay motivated!!!



Personal Information:
My name is Janet and my DH and I live just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am in my 60's, semi-retired and enjoying the freedom of retirement. I would like to improve my health and decrease the pain of arthritis so I can continue to enjoy life with my DH. I have two married sons and five grandchildren.


Other Information:
I am currently taking a Home Staging Course to use on my own home and perhaps others in the future. This is really outside of my comfort zone as I have always worked in business but it is fun to try something new!

    Check out Class 4 laser therapy...it was so helpful for me (from my chiropractor) It speeds up the healing and repairs some of the damage of torn tissue. Ask him to refer you to a physical therapist that does it, if he feels it is good for you. Here the treatment runs around $75 a treatment and you need at least 6. I ended up with 9 treatments. I is so much better and would not have healed correctly without it and would have been limping around so much longer for sure. Now It is just stiff a bit if I sit too long, but I can walk for at least a mile or two before it starts to hurt. Good to hear from you! Glad you are back!!! emoticon emoticon
