This is me, 15 pounds lighter - and no longer afraid of the camera! I love this picture, because this smile shows exactly how I feel about myself now - excited and proud of my progress, and already more active with my kiddos, as you can see!

Have slowly and steadily gained weight through medical school and residency, and then through 2 pregnancies. For years, searched for the motivation that would help me make a healthy change, but couldn't find it. Then, through a combination of factors, I came to realize that it was now or never. Found Sparkpeople.com by chance when looking for a good nutritional calculator, as I have rediscovered a love of cooking now that I stopped working and became a stay-at-home mom. Am just getting started but have fallen in love with this website. I am also using some additional tools (The Beck Diet Solution book, and Shaklee Cinch products) to help me on my way.

Personal Information:
Live with my fantastic hubby and my two adorable but exhausting kiddos. Am a family physician, but have taken a break from active practice to raise my kids and focus on our family. Have become heavily involved in my kids' school system, and while I relish the challenge the stress and time commitment has made me realize that I still need to make time to focus on my health.

    AWESOME! I worked out twice today and am feeling it now! But, needed it because I didn't realize that the shells and cheese I made for dinner would take up 37% of my calories today!! I won't be buying those again!

    I took more than enough bites for everyone. ;) But unlike in the past, I am completely satisfied with what I had, and not using it as an excuse to pig out tomorrow . . . and the next day . . . in fact, I think I am okay with that being my last treat until Thanksgiving for the first time in my life. Glad to get back on the horse tomorrow, and I'm not worried about the scale! I'll get it back! :) Thanks for all the support guys! :)
