Kicking my sister's bum, 1 day at a time...

My name is Jessie. My sister is trying to get fit, I'm trying to finally not be overweight. We're competing here and I'm going to stick with this longer than her and be better at it! ;p

Hey - Glad you are finally getting better. That sounds like some awful nasty bug. I get what you are saying and definitely understand. We know ourselves better than anyone and we know what works best for us. I have always been a FIRM BELIEVER in "follow your gut" and I think you are doing that. Check in and say hi from time to time.

Oh that's good to hear about not throwing in the exercise towel. I must have missed something because I didn't realize you have been so sick! I agree that getting better and sticking to basics like rest and food should come before exercise. So definitely give yourself a break, girl! You shouldn't feel guilty, because overtraining can just make you sicker. Just focus on getting better and you'll know when you're strong enough to get back to exercise. Oh and the narcotic cough syrup sounds kinda nice. emoticon

Hey Jess, see I thought maybe I wasn't reading your blog right. I took it as you were giving up. But I now understand it is just a break and yes, breaks are necessary many times. Especially when you keep getting sick. You need to rest and recoup your body. You are right, you will feel like it again sometime soon. And it is great you are still active in a variety of ways. THAT is key. If you never run again, so be it.

Hope that nasty, painful cough goes away soon! Take care of yourself above all else.

I'm doing good, thanks for asking. Just have to get past this mental block about my eating so I can lose those couple pesky pounds that come and go constantly.
