Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

My name is Jenn and I am3 yrs. post-op from a LAP RNY (04/27/07) Gastric Bypass. I had lost 145 pounds only 15 pounds to go when I got the blessed and long-awaited news that we were FINALLY expecting our first child.

My sweet baby was born on Sept. 23, 2009. During which time I had to UN-BREAK all the rules that I had learned to UN-BREAK the firet time around with the RNY. I suddenly found myself consuming 2000 plus calories per day to make sure my daughter was getting enough nutrition....AND because I remembered how much I loved all the foods I had learned to stay away from for 18 months prior.

I gained 50 pounds duirng my pregnancy and am still struggling with an extra 33 to get to where I was before pregnancy and 48 from my ultimate goal. This has been a REALLY BIG challenge since I am so far out....my pouch can handle almost anything......

SOOOOOOO, I have recently gotten back on track with journaling and regular exercise. I realized that no matter what happens in life, lifestyle change is permanent and learning how to live through the tough stuff with all the new life tools is imperitive.

So, here's to the challenges that life has to offer and the tools that we've been given. And, most of all may we have the wisdom to utilize them to our greatest potential.

Success is measured only by the efforts given to the obstacle at hand. We get out what we put in, and if our efforts are lacking, then therefore so shall the result replicate our efforts.

Here's to power of self, faith in a higher being, and living each day as it was your last...for mortality is an answer only God knows. Life may slip from us quickly, and without warning, so will today be a good day to die, with no regrets and empty pockets because you have given all the goodness that they hold. Or will today be a bad day, filled with bad choices and full pockets because we focused on ourselves instead of those around us.

May the God of Heaven grant us the strength to reach out to others, that we may lose ourselves in order to find ourselves. May the upcoming year be filled with joy, love, succes, and service to others.

Loves and Hugs!

I want to be to my goal of 120 pounds by January 30, 2009. I need someone to be accountable to besides me...so, that's why I am looking for a buddy.

My Program:
Right now I am just trying to refocus my energy into me as we have suffered a great loss in our family and I have not been motivated to do what I need to do.

So, I am going to start tracking my food, and my exercise so I can have a better idea of what I am puting in and puting out. Then, I will go from there.

Hey there! I do know you, as a matter of fact I sat right behind you at the last meeting :-)
I did just have the gastric bypass done, wrapped up my 2nd week post-op today. I can't believe how little I eat and survive...of course it's easy to not eat when you're never hungry!
I can't believe your beginning picture. While you're still a very beautiful gal you now look totally different which gives me hope too.

You've actually been in my prayers a lot lately. It's a terrible thing you're going through and even though I can't help I can pray...so I do :-)

I really love Sparkpeople. I joined it so long ago, took a break and gained a lot of weight, then got back into the groove. It helped me lose the first 23 lbs prior to surgery. I'm glad you're on here too. Do you belong to the gastric bypass group?

Well, I am doing well. I have lost a total of 135 pounds now and have 25 pounds or 10 % boday fat to reach my goal of 20% body fat. Not everyday is a good day, and that's ok. Perfection is for people who live in denial. SO, I just choose to admit when I am having abad day and pick up and get back on track the next day. I don't have any current photos - no time to take them.... but when I get a new one, I will figure out how to upload it.

    Have a great day! emoticon
