20 something trying to get on track.

I'm currently a student finishing up my undergrad in music, and I work full time at a music school at the front desk. I am trying to lose weight and get healthy, so I can participate in daily activities in a "normal way". I really love musical theatre and I'd love to be on the stage more, but dancing and choreography totally freak me out and that's what keeps me from pursuing that.

Live in Minnesota, go to school in the twin cities and work just outside of the twin cities at a music school. Love to sing and perform, would like to be more in shape so I can do choreography in musicals. I think I'm funny, and I probably will use a lot of humor in my journey, to make it easier for myself.

Hey, Jessi! Welcome to Spark People! I've been here over a year and have lost 60 pounds. I want to make this time last for the rest of my life. I like to translate the word "motivation" into "mobilization". that way, instead of being a mysterious and hard to maintain magic substance, it is a practical matter of STARTING TO MOVE. So I was sold on Spark Guy's 10 Minute Exercise concept - start somewhere! I also started off with gradual changes to get the whole concept of lifestyle change (instead of "diet") embedded in my mind. For accountability, use a Team - or two, or three - and a couple of Challenges. And blog! Make sure you also read other members' blogs and reply with encouragement and support, cuz that will help you even more than it helps them. Get your Spark ON!
