Hi Julie, and welcome to the Writers spark team. I enjoyed reading your introduction.
As I read your thoughts about your nutrition goals, I was compelled to share a resource that I've found invaluable. It's a series of educational and meditative podcasts by Renee Stevens, author of the book Inside Out Weight Loss.
It's not for everyone, because the author strays a bit into hokey-land, but folks seem to love her or hate her. I thought you might want to check it out. (Yes, I'm about to recommend another team and the program that it's centered around. Great team leader, huh?)
Check out the Inside Out Weight Loss (IOWL) team here on SP. It took me a while to find my place there, but there's a group of wonderful women there who are working through the program.
It may be fastest to just go directly to the source to get a feel for the program. The address is below. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to to get to the first episode. Listen to 3-5 episodes before you decide if it might be useful for you ... the first couple are weaker than the rest, I think.
(It seems I can't turn that into a link in a comment, so paste it into a browser bar. If it doesn't work, check that SP didn't insert some extra spaces in what I've typed ... it does that sometimes.)
As for finding your correct writing/living balance, you've come to the right place at Writers. It seems like that is what most of us are trying to do. Check out the challenges forum for places to set writing goals and to sign up for the weekly writerly walk. (I think it will suit you, considering your success with your spring walking.)
