Life is a Balancing Act

My goal in life is to condition my mind, body and spirit to exist in healthy unison. All things in life-family, marriage, happiness, success-rely on this balancing act to thrive.

I am in my mid 40's and I love this time of my life! I am married to the only man on this planet who could ever put up with me. I absolutely adore him for that and for so much more! We have 2 adult children who continue to challenge us daily and I'd have it no other way. I appreciate every moment this ...

I appreciate every moment this precious life has to offer, even the mistakes that have taught me so much along the way. I love to cook, read, write, ski, golf, hike, ride my bike and travel. I occasionally run a 5K. I like to laugh a lot, be laughed at and make others' laugh. I like to research stuff, buy stuff, create stuff, decorate stuff, share stuff and give stuff away. My Goals:
My weight loss goals are to lose at a rate of 1 pound per week until I reach the weight and size at which I feel most healthy.

I want to be able to run a 5K without stopping to rest or walk by March 15th, 2014.

I want to be able to run a 10K by the end of 2014.

I want to be pleased with my body by swimsuit season.

I want to develop lasting habits for my overall health and well-being so that I can enjoy my family and set a healthy example for them for many years to come.


My Program:
I plan to reach my weight loss goals by eating at least 5 mostly organic vegetable and fruit servings per day, reducing my added sugar intake, choosing whole grains, low fat dairy products, healthy fats and lean meats and proteins. I will track my food choices daily.

Every day, I will eat a healthy breakfast, drink 64 or more ounces of water and eat reasonable portions at meal times and snack times.

Since I do not enjoy workouts and never stick with a routine, I would like to find a solution that helps me adhere to a workout schedule this year. By registering for 5K races and a 10K toward the end of 2014, I will be forced to train for these events by walking, running, or biking 3 days a week or more for 30-40 minutes and strength training 2 times per week.

I am an avid golfer and occasionally play tennis and hike.

Personal Information:
I was born on the east coast but have been living my happiest adult life in Wichita KS for the past 13 years. The mid-west is a wonderful place with wonderful people. I feel blessed to have a loving husband and fabulous family and friends who surround the core of my existence.

Other Information:
I do not work, other than running a household and family which is a job in itself. Mealtimes are mostly at home for us. I cook mostly every night of the week for my family and I try to share my recipes on social sites like WW, Spark People, etc. I love to entertain, read, write, design things, (like houses and landscapes and interiors) golf, hike, ski, travel, play games, be with my family and laugh.

Hello my beautiful friend. I miss you too. Yes, I am feeling like my old self again and ready to get back to losing weight. I had gained a few pounds over the past week or so and really need to regroup. How about you...how is your weight loss going?
