I am, if nothing else, persistent. I have been on Spark People since June 2010 and am still plodding along on my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I am an emotional eater, and have a tendency to procrastinate, which makes establishing good habits a challenge. However I take this journey one step at a time, one day at a time, and eventually, I will reach my goals.

My Goals:
2017 Winter 5% Challenge

Exercise Commitment: I plan to do chair exercise video 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) for as long as my home situation requires. And I will add two days of going to the pool (Tuesday & Thursday) as weather and situation improves.

Nutrition: I plan to use follow the WMTS plan (weigh, measure, track & stay within my calorie range). I am going to make a weekly menu plan so that my meals have structure and am also going to eat at least one fresh fruit and veggie each day.

Motivation: 10 reasons I want to lose weight.
I want to:
1. walk without pain
2. prepare for future surgery (hip replacement)
3. be able to go for long walks along the beach without having to stop and rest all the time
4. have my clothes fit better so I look/feel better
5. decrease my risk of diabetes and/or heart disease
6. go up and down stairs without using the chair lift
7. fit into an airline seat com

My Program:
-To take this journey one step at a time, one day at a time, and not to beat myself up if I am not perfect. I want to focus on progress and attainable goals.

Personal Information:
I am:
-63 years young
-live in Western Canada
-have 2 furry kids (cats)
-a Christian
-a hummer - (that way I don't have to remember all the words to a song - just the melody); some people find it annoying, but I come from a family of hummers so its genetic

    You made my day! No one has ever been so kind! I write the blogs because I realize that by not being open all my life that it has kept me back. My parents always suggested to be open was a weakness and we need to keep everything we do to ourselves. So I did for all my life and it really hasn't helped me. It is all of you who have been on Spark so long that helped me to realize I can do this. You are my inspiration. Thank you!!! We can and we will do this!
