New life for a new me!

I went 3 years undiagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I was told I was depressed and / or peri-menapausal. When I became so Lethargic i couldn't even get to work I had my daughter take me to a different doctor. She immediately checked my nails and hair and said she believed it was a thyroid disorder. Even with medication and the proper treatment my weight steadily rose. I went to an Endocrinologist and basically was told by him to suck it up, In his many years of practice he had never seen a patient with Hashimotos have any successful weight loss. I was broken, Then this summer I found out my cousin had lost weight through a weight management clinic and that they might be able to help me. BINGO. This was exactly what I needed. The PRN gave me the link to spark people. I am so excited by just the first few weeks......

My Goals:
I want to learn a new healthy lifestyle. My mother was a great example by losing 1/2 her body weight when she was nearly 60 and keeping it off. I can do this.

My Program:
I had an injury earlier this year so I am concentrating on strength training to bring back what i lost and am working to keep my carb and calorie count low. No more POP, sweet tea, fruit juices or daily sweets.

Other Information:
I love music and dancing. Am looking for more ways to get fit during work breaks without looking silly in the cubicle... LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my blog. You were right. I popped some popcorn and we snuggled up on the couch. Good luck with your treatment for Hypothyroidism.
