That butt won't get any smaller by sitting on it...

I'm 31 years old. I've been chunky for a good deal of my adolescent and adult life. I don't want to be chunky anymore. I am an emotional over-eater, binge eater, and a foodie, which makes for a BAD combination. I do not want to be skinny; I want to be fit. I want to be healthy. I want to fit into clothes.

I like fitness, I just hate not being motivated. I enjoy step aerobics, yoga, pilates, swimming aerobics, ballet, tap dance, hiking. I'd love to learn boxing, kayaking ...

I like fitness, I just hate not being motivated. I enjoy step aerobics, yoga, pilates, swimming aerobics, ballet, tap dance, hiking. I'd love to learn boxing, kayaking (which I've done twice and crave more!), surfing, indoor rock climbing (which I tried recently! Woo!), and breaking dishes. I'm always looking for inspiration and motivation!

On June 13th, 2010, I graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Theatre; Minor in History (women's/gender studies focus.) Since achieving this milestone, my goals have changed. I want to enter a Master's Degree program in nutrition to become a Registered Dietitian.

Here it is, Christmas eve, and the baking has NOT YET BEGUN! I'm giving each member of my extended family a cookie, a scratch off lottery ticket, and a bad poem for Christmas so I have to do it today!

It was only with a lot of coffee and determination that I made it until 2 am, and then after that the dog was going crazy like something or someone was outside so I was wide awake until 2:30 wondering who was creeping around our house! My upcoming blog will help explain, but my Christmas preparation schedule was seriously reduced so I stayed up until at least 1 am most of last week just trying to get everything done in time. Craziness!

I don't know if this is the recipe that my relatives used, but here's a popular recipe for grapenut pudding. When my friend in philly comes for visit, he has to get grapenut pudding when he goes out to eat.

penut-pudding

Ingredients:

1 quart milk, scalded
1 cup Grape-Nuts cereal
4 large eggs
scant 1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 tablespoon unsalted butter (approx.)
Whole nutmeg
Water

Instructions:

Heat oven to 350. In a medium-size bowl, pour scalded milk over Grape-Nuts and let sit 5 minutes. In a second medium-size bowl, beat eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add egg mixture to milk and Grape-Nuts and stir well. Pour into a buttered 2-quart casserole dish. Generously grate nutmeg over the top. Place the casserole into a deep roasting pan. Place in the oven and pour water into the roasting pan, enough to reach halfway up the side of the casserole. Bake 45 to 60 minutes, until almost set in the center (very slight jiggly)

HIGH-5!!!

I bet you will be one of the very few who'd try Tofurkey jerky. And others will miss out. It was SERIOUSLY AWESOME. If I had not known any better I would have thought it was REAL beef jerky it was soooo yum!
