I began with Sparkpeople in January 2010 with the goal to bring myself back into excellent health. I began gradually increasing exercise, and added yoga and interval walking/jogging to my mix.

I the fall of 2010 I found Joel Fuhrman's "Eat to Live" book and began to eat more fruits and vegetables, and less and less animal products. This plan really helped move the excess weight.

I only weigh myself one time per month because it is too easy to get hung up on the numbers and feel either falsely elated or deflated. I'm in this for the long-haul and need to keep my eye on the long-term prize.

I finished treatment for breast cancer in March 2010 and am still working on getting my body back into shape. I want 2011 to be about restoring health.

I am just beginning a 6-Week Challenge as of this first week of January 2011. If you want to join the challenge and find support, come and join in the Eat to Live team.

My Goals:
Improve overall health, increase energy, move more freely, feel better in clothing, lose excess weight, and reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence. Those are goals enough!


My Program:
November 2, 2013 - Enough is enough. Leth's get moving! Only one who can do this is.... ME!

On January 4th, 2010, I began tracking my calories and my fitness, and aiming to keep within my ranges. I try to eat whole foods with lots of fruits and vegetables. I weigh myself once per month. In 2010 I lost about 30 pounds, then in 2011 I completely did a bout face. Now I am starting again.

Re-setting the tracker... AGAIN !!



Personal Information:
I'm from central Pennsylvania; I'm 47 years old and completed breast cancer treatment in March 2010. It was a year of decisions, surgery, and treatment since the diagnosis in May 2009.

    Thanks for your encouragement on my page. Keep on keepinīon is my motto. Finally am on the 6 week challenge...started Monday. But Iīm doing the 90% rule, since we eat at kidīs home twice a week, and Iīm limiting myself to 2 oz or less a day of chicken or fish and 1 cup or less a day of milk with my coffee substitutes. Having finally rid myself of the coffee habit, and bread (whole grain, but nevertheless). Hopefully next week, itīll be less meat, and less milk! I feel proud about that since bread products and milk and animal protein have been biggies with me.
