Let's make this the best NOVEMBER ever. This is my TENTH Sparkversary, so thanks to finally finding a doctor who put me on Metformin, Armour Thyroid, and Bydureon, I've been able to lose weight, with about 20# to go yet. I fell and broke my femur right below my hip joint in June, so I have a titanium rod with screws My bone scan showed I have no osteoporosis. The doctor said my bone is healing but it is "not" healed, so I'm off for my third phase of Physical Therapy. They say it will take 18-24 months for my leg to be fully recovered. Only 20% of people who break their femur after age 60 ever regain what they had and I'm determined to be one of them.

In "The Power of NOW" Eckhart Tolle teaches us to live for today. If we do that, all the days of the year will add up to our success. "

I've been a Sparker for ten years. Joined Sparks in October '07. I've five children, 42, 33, 30, 28, and 27. (Four boys/one girl) I have four GDs, Grace Olivia (6), Chanel Ava (5), Lily Dona (5) and Chloe' Renee (3).

My tenth year goal is to EXERCISE daily now that I turned 68 and in my head I'm still 30.

Thank you so much for stopping by my page with a little pep talk. I can lose the 200 pounds - I've done it twice before - but it's like walking through a dense forest and then seeing the mountain you still have to climb. So, I'll gear up and muster through.

I'm so sorry to hear about your broken leg! I can't imagine the pain and discouragement you must feel... emoticon

Thanks for comments on my blogs. I retired 2 years ago and find that I haven't had time to get bored. In fact, I am enjoying setting my own schedule instead of working around my job of 25 years at a hospital working mostly awful hours. If I decide to sleep in or go shopping it makes me feel more in control of my present and future.

My biggest challenge is having to adjust to decreased vision due to macular degeneration. I gave up driving about a year ago and so now i live in an apartment near bus routes and some stores are walking distance (1/2 to 1 mile).

P.S. I friended you, hope you don't mind. emoticon
