Middle Aged?

I cannot believe I am 45 now. Does that make me middle age? I asked someone recently and they said I am beyond middle age by a few years. Goodness! In the last two years I have lost 55 lbs, but have gained back 10. I have learned I am really good at maintaining my weight, but can't seem to move beyond this plateau. It can be VERY frustrating! Of course, it also creates a situation with me in which I say "why bother"?! I have the knowledge, but need to find and keep the motivation to ...

Of course, it also creates a situation with me in which I say "why bother"?! I have the knowledge, but need to find and keep the motivation to stay on track. I will I know. Now with the nicer weather approaching, maybe I will get back to a good routine and stick with it. I feel so much better now and know I will continue to feel good with the weight loss.

My Goals:
I want to drop to under 200 lbs. and get myself in the habit of working on myself daily to maintain the changes I have made.

1/3/09 - I vow to get back on track and move every day! I need to start back on the right course to feeling and looking better. Each day I plan to move, even if it is just the 10 minute workout video for the bootcamp. I can do this!

8/11/07 - Today I lost my brother after a very courageous battle with cancer. I pray that his strength and determination will be something I can make my own, especially when it comes to losing weight and becoming healthier.

My Program:
Monitoring my food intake is key, whether I write it down or not. Also, eating more frequently (ever 3-4 hours) is key.

Consistency will be crucial for me this summer. I need to make sure I move more and not fall back into old, bad habits.

Personal Information:
I am now under the care of a weight management specialist. I just know there is something more than what is going on with me. I hit the gym 3 days a week and am eating okay. Yet, I have not budged on the scale and my pants are tight.

I have only been under the doctor's care since earlier this week, but so far it has been good. I have lost 7 lbs. this week alone! I am excited by this change. I continue at the gym 3 days a week for Zumba and once a week for strength training. It feels good.

Other Information:
My C.A.G.S. is finished! I am thrilled to be done with school and look forward to what is next in my life.

Thanks for the blog comment. It feels good to be posting losses after a couple of years of having small gains almost every week. This sinus pain has got to go, it's no fun at all!

I noticed that you're a special ed. teacher, that's God's work right there. My dad (68 years old) is a substitute teacher who does a lot of work in special ed. He routinely works over 120 days per year and last school year took over a classroom from November to the end of the school year. I worked the last half of the school year as a para educator at the same school. It can be tough work some days, but it's worth it!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. It really was a great feeling to finish that walk. I've noted some changes I need to make ( get out of the pajamas and be properly dressed for one) so I can move forward from now on! - Diana

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and be supportive.

I have to tell you, you aren't 'middle aged'. A saying here in the UK is you are middle aged when you are worrying about your children AND your parents. Yeah right, I've done that for years. Refuse to consider myself 'middle aged' though.

I have every intention of going from 'youngish' to recycled teenager [otherwise known as pensioner]. I also intend to grow old disgracefully. No going quietly into the night for me..........
