Juanita, WELCOME to the Lost A Loved One group. They are the most caring and loving group of women. My deepest sympathy and sorrow reach out to you in the loss of your beloved husband on 01/03/11. Like you, I became a widow on January 28, 2008. When, my beloved husband lost his battle to cancer and complications from a rare form of dementia, a dear friend emailed me a very special poem, that to this day I pass down to others that are suffering losses such as what you have been through. I am hoping the following poem may bring you an inner peace that you and your precious son are forever connected by an invisible string from his eternal heart to your earthly heart.
I'm Gone now, but I'm still very near.
Death can never separate us.
Each time you feel a gentle breeze,
It's my hand caressing your face.
Each time the wind blows,
It carries my voice whispering your name.
When the wind blows your hair ever so slightly,
Think of it as me pushing a few stray hairs back in place.
When you feel a few raindrops fall on your face,
It's me placing soft kisses.
At night look up in the sky and see the stars shining so brightly.
I'm one of those stars and I'm winking at you and smiling with delight.
For never forget you're the apple of my eye.

to the Lost a Loved One team. My sympathies on the loss of your husband. You've come to a great team of individuals who have experienced loss and are grieving much as you are youself. I lost my Mom in August of 2010 and have found the journey much more difficult than I ever could have imagined. I hope that in this team, you will find an element of healing for your grief.
I see you've already stoped by the team message boards and introduced yourself. so glad to have met you there. There is also a resources thread that has a lot of good references and information, as well as a chat & support thread where team members just meet to vent and learn to know each other. If you have specific things you would like to have discussed, please feel free to start your own thread and if you don't feel up to posting and just want to read, that's fine, too. Just know that we are here for you. Looking forward to learning to know you.
