Lake Tahoe is gorgeous in the summer! We love visiting the beach at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe.
My kitties - Boo is the one licking Georgia. Isn't he sweet to his feline gal-pal?
I'm in my late 30's from Dallas, Texas, and was a middle school math teacher before I had my baby girl. I have noticed the 30's have brought the slower metabolism and it is no longer easy for me to drop a few pounds. I have noticed that some of my pants have magically shrunk - "closet shrinkage" as my husband calls it - and it is a growing concern (no pun intended!). Both of my parents are very active for late-50's, early-60's and they both look great. I figure I need to get on the band wagon if I intend to keep up with THEM!
Unfortunately, although my husband needs to work out and watch his diet, too, he is "too busy" with his job and many hobbies to make time for something so important. Therefore, here I am at SparkPeople!
Activities I enjoy are: playing and exploring with my baby girl, travel, reading, puzzles (like crosswords or Tetris), trying new recipes, creative endeavors like sewing and crafting.
I have two kitties - Boo (male) and Georgia (female) - they are of the Ragdoll and Ragamuffin breeds, respectively. The breed is supposed to produce super-sociable cats who are "floppy" when held. While Boo & Georgia both have a time-limit for being held, they do have their "floppy" moments when just being petted (they fall over!). They also have the loudest and most intense purrs of any cat I know! They are wonderful company and I would recommend the Ragdoll breed to anyone who can tolerate the long hair.
Get into better shape AFTER having a baby!
Track food and fitness and hold myself accountable for both.
I'm in Dallas, TX, and I like to travel, go to musicals, see movies, go to Texas Rangers baseball games, and occasionally go to other sporting events.

Jewels...thanks for the sweet comment on my page. Those pics are really what keeps me going. Someone on here was doing the same and stayed the course. they have kept me from quitting so many times. :-)
Yes, my cast came off on April 5th and unfortunately, my ankle is still sprained pretty badly. I am in therapy now and not getting much exercise, but have been cleared to use a bike for 10 min 2 x a day an elliptical 6 min once a day, and I can swim. Not too exciting and won't help much...but I still have to go slow and easy....my ankle is VERY swollen still....
Hope all is well with you...i have a kitty and saw your pic of boo and georgia...how cute!!!! Nice bike too!

Oh my goodness...I love motor cycle riding, reading, cooking, Tetris (my absolute all time fav), and a few other things like kids and scouting and animals. It was just really funny to read that, I thought I was reading my bio or something:) Have a good weekend!

I'm quite familiar with the closet shrinking as well. I was voted the girl "Most likely to keep her figure" in high school (which was, oh, 18 or so years ago), and have moderately chubby genes working against me. The closet sizes just keep going up! Although I really only want to lose about 10 pounds, because we too will be (as we say) "not not trying" to start a family very very soon, I fight with myself and laziness mostly for the exercise. So, if you're anything like me, we can root each other on for very similar reasons!
Good Luck! Work hard while you have the time!!
