Thanks for checking on me! I haven't been Sparking much -- got crazy busy with tryouts and work. I'll know by 9 PM if I have been drafted to a team. This will be the longest day ever!!! We had our final scrimmage last night, with all of the captains and some league members cheering us on. It was difficult -- the first time we've actually scrimmaged during the 6.5 week probationary period -- so I felt like I was trying to get my legs under me the whole time. But I did some good things and never gave up. Hopefully that counts for something! I'll be letting everyone else know what happened as soon as I know myself! Thanks again!

I hadn't seen anything from you recently and I just wanted to check in. How's it going?

Thanks for the comment on my blog. It's nice to know that someone is listening to my vent.

I've been playing derby for quite a few years. I joined because I had been isolated at home for such a long time (I'm a stay at home Mom) and wanted to get back out into the world. It seemed like a fun way to get exercise. The league I joined wasn't even scrimmaging at that point and grew to be a very non-competitive, not terribly successful league. I transferred to my current league a couple of years ago and it's much more competitive. I am a very competitive person by nature, so it's a good fit. However, my own limitations frustrate me greatly and as a result I spend a lot of time in my head.

I went to the gym and worked with my trainer today. He always helps recenter me and make me feel like a beast. :)

Keep up the great work
