The Right Stuff.

I never worried about my weight until I was 25. I didn't even diet before my wedding like a lot of people do. I just maintained without much effort. I gained the "Freshman Fifteen" but it didn't look bad on me, so what the heck?

The summer I was 25, weight started creeping up on me. My clothes were too tight. It took a while to notice because I wore scrubs every day to work which are so comfortable and have drawstrings to adjust for weight gain. When I came home from work I usually put on a pair of track pants or yoga pants and a t-shirt or sweatshirt because my husband and I were pretty much homebodies since I worked night shift and he worked days. I only noticed the gain on those rare days I actually put on jeans (which required buttoning.)
Finally the summer I was 26 I joined WeightWatchers with my dad and lost 15 pounds. I was looking so good I became pregnant with my daughter. I let all I learned at WW fall to the wayside and gained 34 pounds while pregnant and then only lost about 18 pounds of that weight.
I had two miscarriages before I had my son and I think that is the time I became sort of depressed and quit caring about myself and the way I looked. I didn't see myself as worthy of anything.
As I sit here typing this, from my heaviest @178 in January 2010 (7 pounds heavier than when I delivered my son in 2004) to now (October 2010) @167 (3 pounds heavier than when I delivered my daughter in 2001) I am affirming that I am worth being healthy and energetic. I CAN weigh 125 again AND I WILL MAINTAIN IT!!!!!!!
