TIme to refresh this page. I joined Spark People just about four years ago now. I lost my first twenty pounds but have not taken seriously my desire to lose about twenty more. While I no longer feel like a fat old lady, that's not enough. I want to feel and look like a fit old lady. I'm reconciled to the age thing. I've been young; I'm done with that. But that only applies to my hair and wrinkles (and maybe a little memory). Age does not give me license to be unhealthy because of how I eat. So ...

While I no longer feel like a fat old lady, that's not enough. I want to feel and look like a fit old lady. I'm reconciled to the age thing. I've been young; I'm done with that. So I'm resetting my ticker at my current weight, hoping that will motivate me. You all of course, and Spark People, are what make me convinced I can do this.

Not a lot of sparking going on here either. I am on a team and check in once or twice a week, post weekly scores. But my mojo seems to have taken a hike. It's coming back, however, as I have had signs that the Achilles tendonitis may be returning, and I do NOT want to deal with that again. I need to be moving it and losing it!

Work always gets in the way. I'm planning on retiring in May. There is a slim chance I may stick it out for one more year; my house will be paid off in a few months, and a year's salray without that expense is tempting But I just want to cry when I start thinking about fall classes. It's even harder as I have a great schedule this year with no freshman writing--and that surely won't happen again.

So how are you enjoying your freedom?

Thanks for your good wishes. The downside of being an old lady is that you occasionally lose someone you love.
I see there was a "Buddha" in the obits last week. I hope that wasn't "our' Buddha.

There's more posting and chat going on in the Lodge than in the Cabin--but you are only required to post once weekly and nobody expects you to reply to all posts. I know what you mean about the socializing taking a lot of time. It's nice to have the support, but it can get overwhelming when you are busy.

I sent Pam an email that you would be interested if an opening occurs. There are 100 camp members--so with four lodges, that's 25 people per lodge. But only four per cabin--I may start chatting more there.

We add up weekly challenge points, and the four lodges compete against one another, but I think the whole team effort is ongoing. I checked but don't see an end date. I think that is what you were asking. If you are interested at all, let me know. They are keeping a list to bring new people in for those who haven't shown up this first week or who drop out along the way.
