My name is Jessica.

I am a waitress and have been in recovery of drug addiction for over a year. I am 22 years old. I belong to a gym. I go 5 times a week. On the tredmil I walk a lap then i run a lap...again and again for about 30 mins. Sometimes I try to run for longer than a lap. My fridge is full

I eat half a bag of a small popcorn when i go to the movies. Im about 122 pounds. I am a chronic smoker. I have alot of stuff going on in my life, and diet and fitness is not my expertise but i do have commen sense. I try to eat a small meal every 3-4 hours...but when i splurge its hard for me to accept it and move on. Instead I say to myself " I already ate a burrito, drank cocacola and ate popcorn so i guess i will eat alot more and start a new diet tomorrow." I am realizing that eating for me is very simular to my old drug using behaviors. I am hoping that this website will be helpful for me and allow me to be helpful to others as well. I have faith that i can be the person I want to become. And that person I want to become is beautiful on the inside and out. I would love to be part of this community called sparkpeople and form a fellowship and maybe become a tool for someone else.

My Goals:
To lose the love handles. Have a more healthy eating routine and still be satisfied. To be strong when i am out to dinner with a menu in my face or at carrabas when they bring the bread. and to motivate others like me who are just powerless over food.

My Program:
"I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me...with one foot in front of the other." is something i tell my self when things are tough, or when i need strength. Beileve it or not...but there has to be something miraculous about that sentence because it always works for me.

Other Information:
I love my mini poodle.
I ride a bycicle.
I like to read about history, romance, and spirituality.
Quiting smoking is definatley something i want but i dont know that im ready to have.
I have liver inflammation.
I believe in miracles.

Its sooo true Jess...And i really hope you find away to believe it.

I usually eat between 1200-1400 a day. And yes, occassionally I do cave, but I try to only allow it a few times. Ive worked to hard to fall back on that road of eating bad.

I read what you wrote on your page and found it to be very interesting and honest. I read a lot of people's pages since I make it a habit to welcome people. Not too many people are as honest about themselves as you are here. But, I think it is great! I think if more people were honest about who they are and what they have experienced then more people here and in the world in general would be helped. Keep being you and keep up the good work and you will continue to help others. 4 or was it 5 times a week at the gym huh? That is GREAT!!! That is what I have been doing. Well, only since September though. It is starting to become easier. I normally have never gone to the gym on a regular basis more than 3 times a week. I am going to keep it up though. Well, welcome to Can't do this on my own. I look forward to getting to know you better, and hope you enjoy our team.

Hey Girlfriend...You are a beautiful girl..You have to learn to love yourself, the beautiful body God has given you. If you have confidence in yourself, then men appeciate that much more than anything else. Looks are not what will keep a man...Youve seen the stars...the most famous get cheated on... Its all about your personality and your confidence...and really how much of a man they really are.

Jess, when I was 22, I wasnt no where near your skinniness. Can I tell you, that I also used to smoke. I smoked for 13 years, but I did finally quit when I was 26...Its been 20 years now.

Putting healthy things into your body and staying toned, and believing in yourself is what is going to help keep your youth.

You are going thru a lot with recovery or I'd be all over you with the smoking...but, recovery is more important...take it a day at a time...and when you do feel stronger then maybe you can kick that habit. the fact that you are exercising and eating healthy is one big awesome step girl.

Please please, work on your pride and self confidence. You really are beautiful...you need to find that beautiful person within you and let her shine!!!

Hey Jess...Welcome to Spark. First let me start my congrats on your recovery....You should be VERYYYYY Proud of yourself. I'm glad that you have put your faith in God, He can surely help you on all your journeys.

As for the running, EVERYTHING counts. Most people starting off actually do it the way you mentioned. Its actually a better way to condition your body. Every couple of days you can try to run for like 15 secs. longer and build it up. Jess, anytype of exercising is good for YOU and your body! Find something you enjoy and stick with it girl!

Ok..so I just checked your pictures out...you are on this website just for good eating habits and healthy exercising right? If not, it should be the only reason! Oh my goodness girl..you are so skinny!
