Making friends with a body

I have Crohn's disease. I was diagnosed at sixteen, but I got sick at thirteen. My weight fluctuates wildly between 110lbs when I'm very sick to 180lbs when I'm on the prednesone. In 2009, the doctors finally decided there was nothing for it but to operate. I lost half my colon, but got my life back.

Now, I'm attempting to convince my body that for once the food is still coming, and meanwhile trying to see what it's capable of now that it's not constantly ill.

I want to be able to go overnight hiking. I want to be able to go rock climbing. I want to have a fulltime summer job, and do excellent in school while maintaining fulltime hours. I want to not see my bed, outside of sleeping. I want to know what a reasonable amount of food looks like.

"Pain in itself is only sensation and it is our attitudes of resistance to it, and fear, that make it uncomfortable. These attitudes are conditioning and can be released, or simply traded for more fulfilling attitudes. Acceptance and gratitude. Offer it love, instead."

The name goddess is an old story. Yrs ago while married to my ex I started going back to school and he didn't like it. One day while trying to set up an email acct I was trying to think of a good screen name. The entire afternoon the ex (as usual) was harrassing me with the question "what do you want to be when you grow up?" and other such stupid questions. Finally I spun around in my chair passing by my book on Greek Mythology and answered "I plan to be the F** Goddess Athena!" A screen name was born, The goddess of Wisdom and Warfare. Mostly warfare with him. I am now married to the sweetest most supportive man ever and was able to retire my sword and shield. Therefore, I use to be a goddess. Stupid, but I couldn't think of anything else when I joined SP and never thought I'd get into it as much as I have. It is pretty addictive here. Best people ever. Please feel free to delete this entry as there is no reason to have it take up half your page. I look forward to seeing you around. - Cissy aka Use2baGoddess!!
p.s. I graduated from college with a degree in International Business/Spanish as a divorcee.
