I started my weight loss journey at Curves about 6 years ago. While it was an incredible starting point and taught me so much of what I know about diet and exercise now, my body got too used to it and I plateaued for far too long. My body was craving more variety, more challenges and more control over my exercise plan. That's when I became an avid "work out at homer"!! The time I spent driving to the gym or Curves I could spend on a workout and there were no longer any excuses for not working out! That was in February of 2010. A year later I have lost over 60 lbs and am proud to be titled a fitness guru by my friends and family! My husband is an amazing support system as are the friends I have surrounded myself with! I am proud to say that I have been an inspiration to many of my friends to begin their own health and fitness regimen (including my doctor-how awesome is that?!). I am a firm believer that the mind body connection is the key to weight loss. In other words, you cannot change the outside until you change the inside; you cannot change the body until you change the mind.

I used to be so negative, tired all the time and ticked off at the world. I am now uplifting, happy (that feeling still throws me sometimes!), full of energy and ready to motivate the masses!

I won't lie....it is hard...it is very very hard...but the rewards are so incredible that all of the hard work is more than worth it.

Please remember that with anything this hard you WILL have setbacks-they are inevitable-but they are no reason to give up. If you have a flat tire you fix the flat and keep going; you don't poke holes in all of the other tires. So if you have a setback don't go poking holes in all of your tires-just fix your flat and keep on going!

My Goals:
I have shed 95 lbs. since February 2010 and seriously toned up! I am only about 27 lbs. from my "ideal weight", which is a lot closer than I ever thought I would be! I am so excited that I am now a Certified Fitness Trainer through the ISSA and a Certified Circuit Coach at Curves.

Short term to mid term goals :
Since I am so close to my "ideal" weight. At this point, I am focusing on body weight percentage, instead of lbs, to ensure that I lose body fat and not lean body mass. By mid July (2012) I would like to decrease my body fat percentage by 5% so that it is in the upper limits of the "normal" range. This represents a loss of 11 lbs over 3 months (a little less than a lb. a week).
I will also begin tracking measurements like waist, bust, hips, arms, thighs, because my clothes and mirror tell a story of toning and inches lost

My Program:
Home exercise & toning: KETTLEBELL, stability ball, "My Gym" equipment, weights, toning band , and a variety of videos including all of coach nicole's, biggest loser, kickboxing, bellydancing and aerobics....the key to success is variety variety variety! I love working out at home because it gives me so much to choose from!

I was born and raised in Buffalo New York and moved to Kingsport, Tennessee in 2008....I am re-married and loving being in love with my sweetheart! I have 2 wonderful boys age 16 and 14 and a step-son age 17.
