Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think".... ~A.A. Milne~
I have made a promise to repeat that to myself several times a day and even more through the rough patches.

I started my weight loss journey at Curves about 12 years ago. While it was an incredible starting point and taught me so much of what I know about diet and exercise now, my body got too used to it and I plateaued for far too long. My body was craving more variety, more challenges and more control over my exercise plan. That's when I became an avid "work out at homer"!! The time I spent driving to the gym or Curves I could spend on a workout and there were no longer any excuses for not working out! That was in February of 2010. A year later I lost over 60 lbs. By 2013, I had lost just over 100 lbs.
As 2015 reached it's mid-point, I found myself struggling with slow but steady weight GAIN again, despite honest to goodness consistent, significant effort. I teach Zumba classes, and although there are no longer any Curves in the area, I have added a lot of at home strength training, group fitness classes, and even discovered that I love Buti Yoga! I was burning an average of 600 calories a day. I also tracked my foods at least 5 days per week (every bite- and most weeks I tracked 7 days a week). In May of 2014 I was at 161, and in December of 2015 I found myself at 190.
So, at present time, I am discouraged and scared that I could get back up to close to 300. I am going to be hyper vigilent and fine tune wherever I can. I know I need to add more variety, as my body has acclimated to Zumba much like it had to Curves. Although, I think I actually need to work out more. I am consuming the same amount of calories as I did when I worked out a third as much as I do now. I may actually have developed some metabolic issues from overtraining. I am also trying to amp up my protein to 30-40% of my daily calories and lower my carbs to at least only 30%. I am doing a lot of fine tuning! Wish me luck as we begin 2016!

They have changed the way a leader can contact members of the team. If you are not active on a team for 30 days are more a team leader can not send you a spark goodie I do not think you will receive messages from the team either but I have not received a confirmation on that. However, the changes will make it less and less likely I will be able to communicate with less active members. At this point we only have 6 active members 4 of which have visited the team because I was able to contact them recently. I feel these changes have thrown up one more obstacle to helping build the team. I will see how things go over the next couple of weeks but I may end up ending the team in the event the members fall to 2 or less active members. Thanks for your continued support.
