Have you ever determined your BMR (basal metabolic rate)? If you include the amount of calories you burn during a workout, I bet you require more then 1200 calories a day!!!
I also believe that if you are eating all healthy, lean foods, you will NEVER get fat! Calories aren't the only thing to be worries about! Quality of your diet is also a huge factor to your body composition! 1195 days ago
When I started losing weight, I weighed 155 lbs, and was eating 1800 calories for 6 days a week (7th day was a refeed day) and exercising 4-5 times a week for an hour each workout. I managed to lose 25 pounds and get down to 130 lbs with this simple plan and get pretty lean on this diet/routine. I did NOT eat fewer calories until I wanted to compete, which is an entirely different way to lose weight... one that I do not recommend for the average person.
I think MOST women (specifically) do their metabolism an INJUSTICE by eating so few calories... in my opinion 1200 calories per day for any length of time would be starvation to me! I just can't do it! 1700-1800 calories works for me, and I am successful at losing weight at a slow, healthy rate! Plus, I am not ravenous ALL THE TIME! I hate feeling hungry! lol
