I'm changing my intro text as practically everything has changed.

Since 2000, I've gone from 98 pounds to 197. I'd really like to get back to 120. My weight gain came from a combination of lifestyle changes and medical complications (Open heart surgery in 2004). Now I'm healthy enough to pursue exercise with a vengence, and I've resolved to model a healthier lifestyle for my kids.

I now have two daughters--both adopted, ages 11 and 4. Our littlest just came home from Ethiopia in September 2008.

They are a joy!

We're hoping to adopt again in the near future, but my dear husband has laid down the law. If I'm not healthy enough to have a baby, I'm not healthy enough to adopt either. I must loose 30 pounds before he'll cooperate on another adoption and I must demonstrate a commitment to my health.

Ultimatums aren't like him, but I think he knows that I'll get motivated when I want something bad enough. For myself, for him, four our two kids and the two more I hope to bring home in late 2010, I'm back and back on a mission!

My Goals:
Goal 1: Stick to it!
Goal 2: Wear a swim suit by summer.
(bonus points if I get brave and buy a 2 piece).
Goal 3: Goal weight by my birthday in September.


My Program:
I'm following the "spark diet." With logging food, and exercising when I can. I'm taking ice skating lessons and practicing as frequently as I can. I play on an ametur ice hockey team.

It's tough to squeeze in the exercise with caring for my daughter and our pending adoption as well as working full-time.



Personal Information:
I'm from the Seattle area and I have a small business and I am a freelance writer.

I play ice hockey on an ametur team.

I'm the adoptive mom of two wonderful daughters.

I love Oscar Wilde Storeies, The TV Show 24, any books by Dr. Oz.


Other Information:
My favorite books (inspiration as I try to stick to my program) are the "You" books by Drs. Oz and Rozien. I highly recommend them.

    For me, the most important thing--well, in addition to the articles and the info and the people and...--but the foundation is exactly what you said--"the cold naked truth" in my nutrition tracker! That opened my eyes, and continues to! And I'm counting on it to get me solid in maintenance, too!
