I'm getting narrower ... and faster ... if I break the light-speed barrier, I'll tell you yesterday.

Wag more, bark less. You can do anything. Except live without oxygen. And gravity is nice, too. But aside from that -- anything's possible!

-- Including losing 100 lbs. in 9 months and 8 days. If I can do it, YOU can do it.
-- Including hitting 100,000 fitness minutes (no lie!) on March 22, 2011.

My favorite of the Spark People haikus I've been writing:

All dogs learn new tricks
intelligence is bred in
their bones: chew on it

January 19, 2008 -- started taking alli

October 28, 2008 -- thank you thank you THANK YOU Doneys for naming me Done Gal O' The Day and somewhere in there I was named a Motivator as well. I can hardly believe it. Today's song is for you.

February 17, 2009 -- thank you thank you THANK YOU Kind Buds for naming me Kind Buddy O' The Week. Yesterday's song, if I may, is for you. Party on! :)

March 25, 2009 -- thank you thank you THANK YOU for naming me the Spark Motivator of the Day! How the heck did THAT happen? Seriously, I am humbled and grateful and newly motivated and trying to think of how I'm going to thank everyone individually. This may involve dog slobber. Or, if you prefer, coupons for free smart aleck comments. ;)

April 21, 2009 -- I was interviewed (3 times!) on GMTV about my experiences with weight loss and alli. Here's a link to the first interview:
Pics are in my photo gallery.

May 4, 2009 -- 199.2. First time under 200 lbs. since 1991.

May 5, 2009 -- Spark People Motivator of the Day:
(heaven help me, I almost wrote Spank People)
Thank you, Spark Deities! Dieties?

June 8, 2009 -- 150 lbs. off

June 25, 2009 -- my first 5K! My time was 1 hour, 4 minutes and 4 seconds

September 6, 2009 -- Spark People Motivator o' the Day!

November 21, 2009 -- last day taking alli
January 15, 2010 -- plastic surgery (tummy tuck and breast lift). Oh and an article, this one stars our very own TELERIE:
1) Get a new job. A good one, that interests me.
2) Lose the last lbs .
3) Get down to my High School measurements (36-29-39).
4) Continue to treat myself better and better. Learn new recipes. Improve and change up strength training and cardio. Get good rest. Drink the water.
5) Continue to polish and promote my writing. Publishing contract signed with Riverdale Avenue Books in February, 2014.
6) There is no #6.

PS I am starting some things over. Not fun to re-lose and get back to under 200 but that's life in the big city and I am on my way. Come along and help drive. :)

PPS Yeah, I've got a website, and I was published in 2014. :)

Hi! I read your recent blog and my heart goes out to you because I too, have been through what you're going through. I joined Spark in 2006 and lost over 100 lbs in less than a year. I, along with two other Spark friends, were in People magazine and we appeared on the Ellen show. I struggled to maintain once I hit my goal weight, and finally started to gain it all back, and then some. I've been back and forth on Spark ever since. The last time I came back to Spark and made a serious effort was July of 2015. It's been almost a year and I just broke the 200 lb. barrier. I've lost 107 lbs and I have 48 to go. I'm scared to death of two things: 1. That I won't hit my goal weight (as I've failed trying to get there so many times); and 2. That I won't be able to maintain. I've sought counseling and I'm hoping to approach things differently this time around. I hope that you don't give up and that you find something that works for you. Hang in there!

There is not much research into people dieting for over a year and losing more than100 pounds the classic way without surgery. My weightloss has now slowed to about 8 pounds a month, its likely to slow more and than motivation wavers...
