Playing Well is the Best Revenge

I'm getting narrower ... and faster ... if I break the light-speed barrier, I'll tell you yesterday.

Wag more, bark less. You can do anything. Except live without oxygen. And gravity is nice, too. But aside from that -- anything's possible!

-- Including losing 100 lbs. in 9 months and 8 days. If I can do it, YOU can do it.
-- Including hitting 100,000 fitness minutes (no lie!) on March 22, 2011.

My favorite of the Spark People haikus I've been writing:

January 19, 2008 -- started taking alli

October 28, 2008 -- thank you thank you THANK YOU Doneys for naming me Done Gal O' The Day and somewhere in there I was named a Motivator as well. I can hardly believe it. Today's song is for you.

February 17, 2009 -- thank you thank you THANK YOU Kind Buds for naming me Kind Buddy O' The Week. Yesterday's song, if I may, is for you. Party on! :)

March 25, 2009 -- thank you thank you THANK YOU for naming me the Spark Motivator of the Day! How the heck did THAT happen? Seriously, I am humbled and grateful and newly motivated and trying to think of how I'm going to thank everyone individually. This may involve dog slobber. Or, if you prefer, coupons for free smart aleck comments. ;)

April 21, 2009 -- I was interviewed (3 times!) on GMTV about my experiences with weight loss and alli. Here's a link to the first interview: http://www.gm.tv/index.cfm?articleid=34368
Pics are in my photo gallery.

Goals for 2010
1) Get a new job. A good one, that interests me. KINDA DONE 5/10/10
2) Lose the last 35 lbs (I lost 110 in 2008 and 55 in 2009). This will put me at healthy BMI with a cushion of about 9 or 10 lbs.
3) Get down to my High School measurements (36-29-39).
4) Surgery on 1/25/10 (will help with #3). DONE!
5) Continue to treat myself better and better. Learn new recipes. Improve and change up strength training and cardio. Get good rest. Drink the water.
6) There is no #6.
7) At least eight 5K races (I did six in 2009). FIVE DONE
8) Continue training for 5Ks. Improve speed, endurance, running portions and kick at the end. This means a lot of walking/jogging around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir.

PS I am starting some things over, as of mid-September, when I learned that the old scale was underreporting my weight by almost 40 lbs. Not fun to re-lose and get back to under 200 but I am on my way. Come along and help drive. :)

PPS Yeah, I've got a website. :) http://www.janetgershen-siegel.com

My Goals:
200 lbs. have to go (I'm having a fire sale).

Here are my thoughts for 2012:
(1) 10 or more 5K races
(2) Cardio 4x/week unless sick. Weights every day.
(3) Watch the freebie foods as they are not freebies
(4) Hope to maintain, possibly get 20# off but such things are not easy
(5) Spend more offline time with friends
(6) Write a boatload more fiction, and think about it, as it is one of the things that makes me happy
(7) Find myself a new paying gig, as this one will end in December.
and --
(8) Continue to be with all of you

My Program:
Diet, exercise (resistance bands, Joyce Vedral's 20-minute daily workout book, a big honkin' yellow stability ball, the gym and walking, a touch of Pilates) and I used to take alli. Oh and my own will, your love, you wonderful Sparkies, plus the ability to lie to myself about why chocolate is evil.

Personal Information:
If Boston is the Hub of the Universe, I live in the Gateway to the Galaxy.
I am bigger than a breadbox. I am ... The Data Empress AKA The Access Whisperer. Hire me! Pretty please?!

I am also rapidly becoming a cute person, if I do say so m'self.
