I moved to Portland just about 2 years ago, hoping to find myself and some reason for the way my life has turned out.
I'm a 24 year old female with a physical education degree under my belt, along with some extra unwanted pounds. Ironic, I know.
I'm 5'7 and 165 pounds. I started SparkPeople a few years back after I realized I was at 180 pounds and very unhappy. I've always been an very active person up until I graduated college. No freshman 15 here, just college graduate 30. I had a lazy, unproductive boyfriend to thank for that. After realizing my very big weight gain I started onto the very difficult and long road of getting myself back to a healthy and happy weight. With SparkPeople I had lost 10 pounds in my first month and was very proud of myself. And then came the heartache of a break up.
After this I had a very hard time eating at all and quickly dropped 20 pounds. This was not intentional and it made me very ill. After two weeks of this I realized I needed to make changes for my health, emotionally and physically. I then moved to Portland, Maine and began my healing journey.
Now that I'm in a good place and ready to drop the yo yo exercising and poor attempts at eating healthy and actually get my butt back up on the horse fully.
I work a full time job in a office, sitting at a desk all day. I also have a second job were I work about 10 to 20 hours a week. I have a very hard time finding motivation inbetween all of that.
I'd like to rebuild my spark family and really find some great people to motivate and get motivation from.
My low goal is to get down to somewhere in the 140 pound range. My heart isn't intirely set on my weight. I'd like to gain back muscle also so the scale is not a high priority.
Every day clean eating and exercising is my highest goal. I'd like to be in the gym at least 4 times a week and bike instead of drive when ever possible.
Back in school and far into college I was very active. I played sports year round and prided myself in being one of the girls that could keep up with the guys, and really give them a run for their money. Well, after those golden days of college, I find myself with less than half of the motivation I had back then. Now, 20 something pounds packed on and lots of muscle loss, I'm ready to take my body back.

Today is the unofficial "take happiness into your own hands" day. It's unofficial because I just made it up! (*grin*) But it seems like a great idea, right? Today, try not to be controlled by others... decide to be happy, decide to be great. Move forward as if all your dreams could come true today with no barriers standing in your way. I just stumbled across your page and wanted to say hi! I'm also 24 and have similar weight loss goals, so if you need any support, let me know! Support from my Spark friends has helped me immensely in the past, and now I'm back for round two and also trying to build up a Spark support network! Take care and good luck with your goals!
