Putting Some Pep In My Step

I'm a New Year's resolutioner who joined SP in preparation for 01/01/11. I absolutely love New Year's - not the parties or anything, just the resolutions. In the dreariness of winter, New Year's really offers the opportunity for a fresh start, the ability to focus on the positive and look forward to the year ahead. I am a very optimistic and outgoing person and I am really loving embracing a healthier, new life and all the wonderful new activities this entails!

I had a difficult 2009 and then a trecherous, world-changing 2010. At the beginning of 2011 I started to reclaim my health and lose the 60+ pounds I gained (that I had lost in 2008.) 2011 and early 2012 was difficult too - infertility and three miscarriages. Spark has kept me from going off the deep end and gaining an incredible amount of weight as an emotional response. I am happy with my progress - I'm not setting the world on fire, but I'm getting healthier and staying that way.

At the time that I am writing/editing this (October 6, 2012) I am happy to share that my son is one month old. I exercised throughout my pregnancy - even after my due date - and ate relatively healthy, while still indulging my cravings. I believe my actions will give my little one a stronger start in life - exercise has got to be good for both of us, right! Between nursing, being too exhausted to eat beyond what I needed to and short walks around the block to keep my sanity 20 days after delivery I lost all 32 pounds that I gained for baby. So now my goal is to continue on my Spark journey. I have one extra special reason to eat even healthier now - my son!

My Goals:
1) Comfortably wear a wardrobe where "X" is not in any of the tags.

2) Comfortably wear my engagement ring and wedding ring (the rest of me went back to normal after pregnancy, except my fingers)

3) Wear my promise ring again - it hasn't fit in years.

4) I don't focus too much on numbers, but I would love to weigh 20 pounds less if/when I get pregnant again.

My Program:
It's pretty simple: less food, more exercise. Better food choices, better recreation choices. No more TV as a pastime and ice cream as a friend during tough times.

Personal Information:
Native New Jerseyan, living in the southern part of the state outside of Philadelphia. I love the outdoors, flowers and reading.

So good to hear from you. I can not say that I am doing anything good to stay on track, I have been the same weight for 3 weeks now which I guess is good that I'm not gaining but it also is frustrating. I have not been tracking anything which seemed to be working I think, that way if I would go over I didn't know and then didn't stress on the numbers, I was just trying to eat healthy and only when I was hungry. I also have been trying to stay active and have very little down time. I had been losing 1 pound a week for a few months but now I have hit a stand still so I need a new plan.

Hope you are enjoying your summer, have a great week !!

Hey girl, stopping by to see how you and the baby are doing ? Hope everything is going good for you. I am sure he is getting big already.

I am doing ok, slowly losing one pound at a time, but now that summer is here we all know my track record, of course this is when I struggle and fall off the wagon time and time again. Even though I have been very busy I am trying to still check in here and there in hopes to stay on the right path.

Hope you are enjoying your summer so far, have a wonderful weekend. emoticon emoticon
