Gotta' Dance

I'm pushing 50 and 300 pounds this year. I want to be able to ballroom dance with my wife of 25 years & take on her a romantic cruise, and not be all out of breath, having to sit down every 10 minutes to rest. I have recently stopped drinking, I would love to here from any men who are trying to lose weight and stop drinking at the same time.

Lose it and Keep it off.

My Program:
I am keeping my cals way down and really exercising. I am trying to research my foods before I eat them. Alot of the things I have found have shocked me.

Personal Information:
I am an intense person, I tend to over do things. When I eat, I eat. When I drink, I drink. When I party, I party.

Other Information:
I love to cook, but my style is lots of Italian and Tex/Mex calories and lots of wine. I am learning about the different foods and I am trying to create new receipes with what I am learning. I hope to be posting receipes in a couple of weeks.

John I'm so sorry about your loss. Barbara was a dear, dear lady and your soulmate. You are in my prayers.

Hi Jerrol,

Thanks for the comments on my home page. We have another thing in common - I now live in Houston. I work for a large computer manufacturer in the Northwest side of town.

The recipe sounds good. I've made a couple of nice new recipies I want to submit, but I just haven't taken the time to write it all down.

One thing I've found helpful - I cook ahead on the weekend. I'll make a chicken dish or bean salad, and portion it up and stick it in ziplock sandwich bags. Then, packing my lunch is grabbing a couple of bags and a few fruits.

Anyway, it looks like you're making great progress!

You and Barbara are doing great. Bob and I leave on our cruise this Sunday for 7 days of fun in the sun in the Caribbean. Just lost all the weight I gained from Thanksgiving weekend (plus a pound), so I imagine when I get back I'll have a few new ones to lose again. Vacation pounds seem to come off pretty easy though. It is the ones that have hanging around a while that give me the challenge. Just thought I'd drop you a line and tell you what a great job you're doing. Keep it up.

Hi JERROLNICHOLS~

I just wanted to stop by and say welcome to the 2007 4th of July Challenge team. The team is "young" as you can see but it will grow. We are very supportive, motivational and full of encouragement. If you need anything, please holler!
