I joined SP about a year ago, and I've had a lot of fun here. It gives me direction, motivation, and new ideas when things start getting a little stale. I'm a Spanish teacher, wife and mom to a 5 year old. I love working out when I get into the groove, it's the calories I have to watch. I've done just about any kind of fitness activity you can think of at some time in my life, and have usually been quite active. However, in the past whenever I've kicked the fitness level up a notch, I upped my calories also...so I got toned, but didn't change my weight much. I've generally been about 10-20 pounds above what I want to be. It's not much, I know, but what's been stopping me from being where I really want to be? In the past, I thought I would have to give up too much food-wise, and I wasn't willing to do that. But tracking my calories puts me in control, and it really helps.

Fitness Minutes: 18,425

My Goals:
Life goal:
To reach 135 lbs. and maintain there (or decide to decrease further, depending on body fat %).


My Program:
I love to work out and do it almost every day. I use a variety of DVDs to mix things up: TurboJam, Amy Dixon, Zumba, The Shred....I strength train at the gym 1-2 times a week with a trainer.
My current focus is on my calorie limit. I'm trying to aim for the lower end of my range.



Personal Information:
I'm from Seattle and teach high school Spanish part-time. I live with my husband who likes to work on our house, 5 year old son who likes to Spark with me, and my roommate/best friend/auntie to my son.


Other Information:
I love to travel, and now that I'm a mom, that means taking my son places, both in the US (to visit family) and abroad (Latin America). Next trip planned will be taking a group of high school students and my son to Guatemala in August 2010.
