Well, I am continuing a quest for self improvement that started three years ago. Making a commitment to join a competitive dragon boat team was something I decided to take very seriously. I wanted the decision to be the catalyst for me to set goals to better my life in many aspects. This process has allowed me to set real goals for fitness, nutrition and self-care. Being a mom of 3 boys, and having a successful career in real estate, I was used to giving up personal time and energy. This choice had me making myself a priority. After all, I want to be a good example for my kids, and I want to be active and enjoy many activities with them in the future.
I made good strides in living a more balanced lifestyle. I feel I got strong, lost some weight and learned a lot about myself. I still struggle with the balance, though, and often find that I let myself fall into old patterns when I get busy or overwhelmed. I can usually keep one thing on track (and that is often the fitness piece, as it adds great stress relief to my life as well), but sometimes find that I let "old habits" like poor nutritional planning result in skipping lunch and over-eating in the evening. One thing I learned along the way is that this is going to be a long-term, lifetime process. It is the sum of all of my little efforts that is going to result in my life being full, active, vibrant and heathy. My goal seems to change or adapt over time. I am a work in progress... and always will be!

"Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out" emoticon

Hi, I belong to a DB team in Penticton. The Despirit Housewives. We probably have seen and raced each other.
