My new dog Biscotti - so tiny! Now five years old but still as tiny and looks the same.

My dog Roxie under her covers. Besides on our laps that is where Biscotti and Roxie like to be.

Thank you for commenting on my blog and for the congrats! Not really going sugar free...although always checking to make sure the lowest possible sugar in everything we eat. But, our challenge was to stop eating things sugary in sweet treats, like ice cream, cookies, etc. We have done that before for 3 weeks, to just get it out of our system and felt so much better. We did really good after that, only about once a week on the weekends had a small treat of something. Now lately, out of control again....and eating too much ice cream in my case. Not that I sit down and eat a half gallon by myself...more like a pint. Or a cone the next night after doing that. Not good!
No food should be forbidden they say, unless you are allergic to it. But, if it is a trigger food, best to stay away from it as much as possible. Seems like candy isn't your trigger food. Anything sweet like that would not sit in our house for long at all! Either one of us would scarf it two have good self control! Even after 5 1/2 years of diligently doing all this, sweets are still hard to resist. But, we did go into Panera Bread tonight and when we ate at Cracker Barrel the other desserts!! emoticon
We are trying new fresh foods and trying to get off most processed bit by bit. Going to do frozen not canned on veggies we can't buy fresh. It is a work in progress and as I said, has taken us years to get here! UGH...not easy. But, when you feel so much gets easier and we want to now!
Thanks for your encouragement and suggestions. Appreciated more than you know. emoticon emoticon emoticon
Oh, and about the tablet, ours is 8 inches and nice. It is good for reading and using to watch videos. But, like you said desktop is best for SP. Typing on those things is tricky, that is why I am not a least of ours. Wants to jump, zoom everytime I hit the friend feed likes. Never can figure out the settings to get it to stop doing that. So frustrating. And the memory of it isn't all that good. We still have to figure that out, just to get it to download updates. Geeze! Technology - can't live with it, can't live without it! emoticon

That is so great. I am glad you aren't tempted with candy. Good for you!

Have you ever tried the "Chicken Tortilla Soup" from Costco? One of the pharmacy girls at my CVS was telling me and Alvin about it yesterday so I bought some today. We had it for dinner and boy is it good.

I was thinking about you when I was shopping. We will have to meet for lunch again when the rainy season is over. I can plan my shopping around lunch that way.

My hubby is like yours not enough time to cook, due to working. Lots of times recently we just do it team style, each on one end of the kitchen...faster that way. Love that!! Something must be working since I lost 2 more pounds this week. Love all the fresh foods we have been cooking. Getting away from processed food too. Kind of hard to do that completely sometimes, but we always choose the best of what we see. Now look at labels more closely for all those additives, preservatives, syrups, sugar, sodium, etc. What I really like is he is listening more to me about all of it. He knows now that as he gets older, the body processes all this junk food differently and makes you sicker!
Just wish we had done it a lot sooner! I owe that all to SP and all my friends for helping me keep going!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My has cooked cabbage in vinegar before and it is soooo good, kind of caramelizes it. Not sure exactly how he does it, but it is like frying it without the oil or butters. Thanks for the tip on your cabbage recipe. I will tell him about it. He is the cabbage recipe maker in our house, better at it than me for now anyway! He made us some hot and sour soup last week, still have some frozen. My fave!! I always said he should be a chef...he absolutely LOVES to cook! emoticon
