"Nothing takes the place of persistence...."

I have been slender all of my life and even after 3 babies. But after breast cancer in 1996, with the chemo and steroids, my weight jumped from 124 to 196. In ten years I have lost and regained the weight several times. Then, surprise!, stress comes and I regain. This is the last time, because when I reach my goal, I'm staying with my program and with SparksPeople!

I have once again turned to one of my favorite quotes, ...

I have once again turned to one of my favorite quotes, that begins with "Nothing takes the place of persistence..." I've used that quote for many years when my goals seemed unattainable.

My Goals:
I am 5''6" with a small frame. My 1st goal is 130, and then I will decide if I need to lose a few more pounds.I have lost and regained several times in 10 years. I expect this to be the last time!
--on 10/24/08, I sadly went in and changed my ticker to indicate the gain I made of 40 pounds after severe side-effects from Boniva IVs. I'm slowly recovering from a life-threatenting reaction. I've shaved -20, but still have 20 more to get to where I was when I became so ill.

My Program:
1. I eat healthy fruits, veggies, grains, and struggle with protien.
2. I swim laps for an hour in my pool, when it''s warm enough.
3. Work out 3 days a week w/trainer, cardio and treadmill at health club or at home daily.
4. Wear a BodyBugg to track and upload my calories burn, each minute.
5. Strive for a 650 calories deficit from calories burned minus calories consumed.
5. I keep exercising until I get my deficit.

Personal Information:
I live in west Texas with my wonderful husband. I am a Reading Specialist but retired when I had breast cancer 10 years ago. God has a way of sending me little children who didn''t learn to read in 1st grade, so I still get to do one of my favorite things. I love to read, swim, play piano, and read Spark People!

Hurray! I am so glad you are feeling better and getting back into the swing of things. You went through a pretty bad spell with health problems and then black mold on top of it--how horrible! You have shown that you have the strength to overcome any obstacle. You can do it!

It brightened my day to find your encouraging comments on my web page. Thank you, Friend! You are beautiful, inside and out, and your determination and kind spirit make you a wonderful role model. When you have a chance, I'd love to hear more about that BodyBugg--how do you use it? Where do you get it? Has it helped you? Keep on sparkin'!

Hi BJ! I know the J must be for Jenny, what does the B stand for? That is too cool that my kids have the same names and you and your brother! I'm so glad you find the information I post helpful! I figure most people don't have the time to read...so I try to share the information that I gather. I'm already using it to train the people in my business...so why not share it with my Spark family!
I would love to chat more with you when I get back. Thanks so much for the note! Make it a great day!
Lisa

Hi Jenny, We haven't seen you in a long time on Christians with Fibromyalgia. Stop in sometime to let us know if you need prayer for anything or if we can support you in some way. Hugs, Barbie
