I am a single mom, runner, and general adventurer. I started a new PT job to complement my FT job in 2013. While I had already been on a break from running, the new schedule made it even harder. That along with bad eating habits has helped me find lbs that I thought were lost forever. That all changes in 2014. No longer am I on a quest to "lose" weight....I am on a mission to destroy it!

We certainly aren't alone in this!

Today, armed with a good dollars off coupon, I decided I would go get some shorts since it's going to take a while before last year's shorts are decent...sadly, I took several pairs into the dressing room....multiple sizes in various makers. Could there be any such thing as standard sizing? One manufacturer had a cut that created a pulling across the hips/groin area like they didn't fit (actually they did except for this weird pulling) so I tried on the next size in the same short...they fit the exact same way except the waist was bigger...WTH? don't they understand that if I need to go up a size, it's not just my waist that gets bigger! Actually, the waist was slack even in the 8's and since the 10's fit the same only a huge waist gap...sheesh! Thank goodness every brand fit differently so I wasn't too down on myself but how frustrating can you get? Finally, I found a brand and a size that fit properly so I did come home with a couple pair of shorts that fit....and a skirt that was on sale in a size 6...sure I get it, pants and skirts do fit differently and I have hips but really? LOL

Thanks for the blog comment!

The smoothie turned out great! I used 3/4 cup vanilla almond milk, 1 cup spinach, some pineapple (didn't measure), vanilla protein powder, ice and a drop of coconut extract. It tasted like a healthy, non-alcoholic pina colada! I think it's my favorite combination so far.
