Health and Happiness

Almost 4 years ago, I had a pulmonary embolism and was given cpr for over an hour and a half and my husband and family had to wait at the ER and see if I would live or die. I made it and I spent the next 6 weeks in a varying stage of coma... I had a feeding tube, a respirator and then a trach... I had no recollection of the actual events but since then I have gone through 5 corrective surgeries and now, all I am on is a generic blood thinner. I am so grateful for every day... Thanks for stopping by to leave me a sweet message! I appreciate those comments so much. It was a lot of work to get 100 lbs off, but worth every bit of energy it took to get here. I am happy, healthy, and strong and do feel younger than 10 years ago! May your journey to a healthy lifestyle be special!

Hi there! emoticon

Thanks for your comment on my page, and for the friend add. I added you too. emoticon emoticon

Before I started exercising, I used to be a real couch potato. I have always been a bit of a clutz and never have been really athletic. If I can do it, you can!

I have a couple friends that we met climbing who are in their mid-60's. You wouldn't know it. They are extremely active - hiking, snow skiing, water skiing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, canyoneering - they do it all! They have no problems keeping up with my teenage sons and the 20-somethings we climb with. Currently, they are in Equador, hiking in the Cloud Forest and kayaking down the Amazon. They are my inspiration!! They have a fantastic quality of life. They look good and they are extremely healthy and fit. They are proof that with regular exercise 60 is the new 30! That's where I want to be when I'm that age and older. THAT'S what keeps me going.

You have been given a second chance at life, which is such a precious gift! Don't exercise to lose weight. That's just a side benefit. Exercise to LIVE!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Have a great day!

I hope you have a great day!
