I joined SP in 2011 at 193lbs and managed to get down to 181, then allowed myself a 'break' from my healthy lifestyle while I focused my energy on my new job. For the first time in my life, I finally had a job with an organization that I loved, and I stopped paying attention to the numbers on the scale.
I ignored by weight for years, and when I finally had the courage to step on the scale, I was shocked (and disgusted) to see that I'd ballooned up to 250lbs - my highest weight ever.
Something has to change.

Shirt size: 18 (XL-XXL)
Pant size: 18-20
Left Upper Arm:
-Limited sugar intake
-Minimal dairy consumption (lactose intolerant)
-Smaller portion sizes
-Stop eating when I start to feel full
-Drinking lots of water & tea
-Weigh in Mondays & Thursdays
-Monthly progress photos (front & side)
-Take at least 7,000 steps a day
-Run 3x/week for the C25K program
-Strength train 3x/week

I work full time as an Administrative Assistant for an Aboriginal education institute and am in the Canadian Forces Supplementary Reserve ("On call" for national emergencies).
I have an adorable Siamese cat, a wonderful husband, two diplomas in Human Resources, one tattoo, and 6 piercings in my ears.
I like to write, read, spend time with family and friends, talk, meet new people, speak French (though my skills are rusty), learn new skills, dance, camp, hike, travel, take pictures, and exchange postcards with people around the world through Postcrossing.com
I'm not a calorie-counter. I've tried, but found the process tedious, restrictive, and too easy to obsess over. I eat consciously and base my food choices on what my body tells me it needs, wants, likes, or doesn't like.
Whenever possible, I read the nutrition label on the items I consume to make myself more aware of what I'm putting into my body. I'm currently in the process of educating myself on how to make the best choices when it comes to nutrition.
