One Day at a Time

As an "all-or-nothing" person, it's very hard for me to take baby steps and stay with any one "routine." However, in order to achieve my dreams of graduating college with a science degree, (I've gone back to school to follow my dreams!), be a certified SCUBA diver and go to grad school, i need to learn to be disciplined and celebrate small accomplishments.

I've used Sparkpeople before, in 2009, and I was the healthiest and happiest I had ever been. Now, coming back from years of being mired in illness, I'm trying to find my zeal for life again. Best wishes on your journey as well; maybe we can share some fun along the way!

(See blog post 1 for full description!)

Diet End Goal: Full Paleo diet, including grain, dairy and sugar-free.

Exercise: Working toward walking dog 2x per day, having a full strength routine 3x/ week and running/yoga practice on off days. I really want to run competitively again! Would like to complete the Disney Princess Half-Marathon!

Activity: Doing more social activities, outdoors as a hobby, fun activities with my nephews.

My Program:
Getting help on the program with my friends at nerd fitness!

Diet Week 1: Track everything. Reduce calorie intake. Stay within SP calorie range.

Exercise Week 1: Cardio 3x. Walk dog every day. "New Recruit" strength training workout 2x.

Personal Information:
Hi! My name is Jenni! I've battled chronic Lyme Disease for the past 4 years, (maybe longer...but that is unconfirmed.) As anyone with a chronic illness knows, it wreaks havoc in all areas of life: physical, mental, social, emotional, spiritual...just everything. I'm 28 years old, but still feel 24 (after feeling 90 for a few years!) in my head. (It's really weird to say I'm 28...it's almost like I've been in a coma for 4 years and can't really understand that it's 4 years later.)
I'm finally well enough to feel like myself again and I'm starting over!!
Message me if you would like to have a buddy that understands what you're going through with your chronic illness. You're never alone.

Hey! How's it going? I had a really great week! I stayed within my calorie range almost every day, and working out a ton! So, after being up to 184 the last two weeks, back down to 181! Just a matter of continuing to go in the same direction! :)
