Hi, My name is Jen--- I am 48, a mom to four kids ages 17,15,9and 6 year old. i have lost 50 pounds with Sparkpeople and i am back... having some trouble with viewing food as fuel.. back for some motivation !!

the day before i had my baby i weighed 225lbs..Being my last pregnancy, I vowed that I would change my ways regarding food and exercise.17 months later, 85 pounds less... I have run in 11 5K races, 5 half marathons, 1 15K ,1 10miler and I expect to continue a monthly race schedule thru 2010.. I love running ; it certainly does not come naturally to me. I work really hard at it. I also have worked hard to develop my muscles through strength training. I have started to bike ride and yoga in order to cross-train. I really really believe that for me the focus has to be on the doing , the active rather than the idea that I cant eat this or that.. I do not deprive myself. I by choice chose not to eat certain foods but nothing is really off the list that I can never eat or drink again. I hope to one day run a marathon and compete in a triathlon.
A word about this site! I am continually amazed by the support I and my friends receive. I never expected on a daily basis to be motivated, inspired, laugh and cry and want so very much to be part of a collective group.
I feel blessed to come in contact with EVERYONE i meet thru this site. Each person can teach me something- I hope I can give back as much as i have been given.
My HEROES on SP are the ones that succeed with their goals as well as those that falter but never give up trying.
KEEP THE FAITH!! ONE DAY AT A TIME!

Hi - I stumbled across your page and am SO impressed by your race list! Very cool. I'm training for my first half Ironman and have a question for you - have you found a good hands-free way to hydrate on the bike? I'm struggling with what to do... I drink too little when I rely on water bottles but I don't want to strap a camelbak on before running... Would love to know if you have any advice! Thank you!

Of course, you're still on my friends list! I just shuffle them up to reflect the people I am working closely with since I see them regularly.
