I have done Sparkpeople several times before and have lost 50 pounds here, 25 pounds there, but have never stayed with it to reach my ultimate goal. So here at the end of 2012, when I wanted to be closer to my goal, I find myself about 15 pounds heavier than I was last year (my heaviest yet). I am ready to lose these 117 pounds and meet my goal weight of 150.

I know I will not be able to log in every day (even though I hope using SparkCoach will help me at least log my fitness and track my goals/progress and complete some new challenges.

I look forward to meeting new folks, as well as connecting with old friends...

My boyfriend is doing Insanity and I am doing the Wii Fit Plus and Taebo DVD's. Jason's Insanity program comes with an Elite Nutrition guide that calculates how many calories one should eat in a day in order to 1) lose weight, 2) maintain weight or 3) gain weight. Obviously, we are wanting to lose weight so we calculated our calories based on the formula the book gives you (it's based on your age, height, weight and activity level). The nutrition guide is designed for you to eat 5 meals a day, each meal containing 300-500 calories depending on your individual caloric needs. Each section of the book provides 10 recipes per meal to choose from throughout your week. We eat things like fruit, cottage cheese, egg whites, whole grain cereal, boiled shrimp, grilled chicken breast, fresh and frozen vegetables, ground chicken, ground turkey, raw vegetables, etc. It has been a wonderful nutrition guide for me and we absolutely love it. You can also visit teambeachbody.com for more delicious recipes. The recipes are SO easy and delicious and we have really enjoyed this program. Eventually, I'm working my way up to where I can not only do the Elite Nutrition program, but the Insanity workouts as well. But for now, I am happy with my Taebo workouts and my Wii Fit.

My Goals:
-Lose 117 pounds.
-Drink ONLY water (and the occasional glass of skim milk).
-Follow the elite nutrition program designed by the InSanity program.
-Do my Wii fit exercises at least 5-6 days a week, which includes aerobics, strength, yoga and balance games.
-I have taken a break from Wii Fit Plus and have been doing my Taebo DVD's (you have to mix it up every once in a while). I try to do Taebo at least 3-4 times a week (it is very intense and I break a huge sweat which I love!!!)


My Program:
My boyfriend is participating in the Insanity workouts and recipes to lose weight. I am doing my own Wii fit workouts (and Taebo DVD's) but we will be eating the same meals. I plan to do the Wii fit and Taebo, and eventually more strenuous workouts once my confidence is boosted.



Personal Information:
From North Carolina, currently working on my Master's degree, living with my boyfriend and my 1-year old dog, Chloe. I really love my life, but getting this weight off and adopting a healthy lifestyle is my number one goal for 2013 and beyond.
