I've been overweight the majority of my life. In 2001, I achieved lifetime member status at Weight Watchers after having lost 72 lbs. I did alright until I got lazy & packed 20lbs back on in a year. Then I got pregnant with my daughter. And packed on 55lbs, toppling the scales at 238 at my last OB's appt. I probably got higher than that but gave birth first without being weighed a week later. I got down to 195lbs within 6mo and stayed there until i got pregnant with my son in June 2006. ...

Then I got pregnant with my daughter. And packed on 55lbs, toppling the scales at 238 at my last OB's appt. I probably got higher than that but gave birth first without being weighed a week later. I got down to 195lbs within 6mo and stayed there until i got pregnant with my son in June 2006. By the time I gave birth in March 2007, I was 245lbs, my all time highest weight. I knew I needed to do something but gave myself time to adjust to a new baby, a toddler and a new house. In January 2008, I joined SparkPeople, weighing in at 197.6. And that is where this journey began.

Since I started SparkPeople, I've gotten rid of 50lbs FOREVER. Gone, never to return again. The best part? I've done it all without stepping foot in a gym! I've got a great collection of Biggest Loser & Jillian Michaels DVDs, various hand weights, yoga mats, resistance bands and until January, had a treadmill. RIP tready. Hopefully we'll replace that sometime in the next 6mo as I kinda like running but don't care to do it outside. Yes, I'm odd like that.

I've successfully stayed within a 5lb range for a year now and couldn't be more thrilled! I've completely reshaped my body, dropping 2 pants sizes since last March. I'm finally happy with my weight, the way my body looks and most importantly, my health! I can be the active mama who runs & plays with her kids. I'm teaching my kids to make proper food choices, indulge a bit here & there and be active. They're learning to eat to live, not live to eat, something I was never taught.
