This time I am going to do it!

A year on Spark People has seen some significant changes in my life. I have a much better attitude to exercise and fitness, and a much greater awareness of healthy choices on the food front, but I can't in all honesty say that I have lost the weight I wanted to. Now is the time to heighten my efforts, get truly focused and start putting into practice all that I have learnt. A new year, a renewed effort, and a new me!

January 2013
Am finally starting to make progress and see results. I realise again how important a healthy life is to me, and just how much I want to make substantial changes to be the best I can be. My main goal at this stage is to get to Onederland and it is well within reach over the next few months. I would never have got this far without the wonderful support of my Spark Friends, and I am more determined than ever to achieve my goals!

Thanks for visiting my page and your kind words Jenna.
My friend's mum passed away last Wednesday and it has been a wake up call.
The funeral is tomorrow. A very sad time indeed. I need to get serious about losing weight and staying healthy NZ. I hope you don't get it in CHCH.

We have had some high winds and rain, but there will be a price to pay when the bananas and tomatoes come to our markets. Destroyed most of the crops.
I am looking into flights to NZ in September sometime. I have friends in CHCH
and Dunedin so it would be lovely to get together if I make it. I am hoping to find a cheap flight. I'll let you know.
Stay well and have a great week. emoticon

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog, "In Memory of My Dear Friend, Little_Queen." The Mary Pickford quote was one of her favorites. Have a blessed day.

Hi Jenna
I'm glad to hear about your garden -- I'm not much of a gardener myself but two of my sisters and my mother have always loved gardening. It is very clearly a venue of expression and creativity and growth. Not to mention, it is very satisfying to grow the foods you eat (and share!).

I can only imagine how much you miss your mother. She was such a big part of your life, and therefore a huge loss. You were lucky to be so close with her. One of my PEI friends headed off on a grand adventure with her 85-year-old mother this past summer, and I thought of you and your mother's travel adventures when she told me about it. Cherish your good memories -- they'll help you heal:)
Big hugs to you, and I am really glad to hear you're doing well healthwise -- excellent work!
Deirdre
