Hi Sparkpeoples! Let's get skinny (and healthy)!

Hi!!!! I'm Jen. I'm pretty neato. I am 28 and live in Virginia. I have a stressful job, but laughter keeps my team and I going. I love long walks on the beach, poetry, and your mom, I mean the color blue.

I have a dog named Mr. Bingley and two kitties, Brodie and Banky.

Walking my dog helps me get exercise everyday as well as the looooong walk to my work from the parking lot.

At the age of 27 I realized I had to get serious about losing weight to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I was seeing my doctor at least once a month for different ailments. I was on blood pressure medication and a CPAP for sleep apnea. My weight was affecting my self esteem and my ability to date. On July 14, 2011 I had gastric bypass surgery. Here is my journey to a happy, healthy life!

Luckily I don't need to do shakes anymore. I was getting very sick of them, especially since I'm not a fan of sweet things. Greek yogurt, cheese, and high protein cereals have been my life savers!

Jen

You were right about it being on my signature. I deleted it and...no more red line. it WAS a quote from Mother Teresa but...it really got messed up.

I don't call my new stomach a pouch either! emoticon

so funny , so your comment about not being able to call your stomach a pouch I feel the same way. I had surgery on Feb. 28th and I still call it a stomcah!! Glad that you are able to drink more and get more fluids!!!
spark love and hugs,
Patty

Hey there! Thanks for the encouragement. Regardless of how fast the weight goes, it always feels like it should be going faster, lol! I've actually only gone for one bike ride this summer. So busy! I am doing zumba, though. I expect that when I get a little lighter it will be much easier to ride my bike everywhere. I also am still waiting on my helmet to come in, so I don't want to ride in the city without it :-)
