Clean slate

March 6, 2013: I had all kinds of thoughtful, hopeful text here. Some of it dated back to January 2010. And that was great. I lost something like 60 pounds between that month and the following February. But I gained 30 of it back and I've come to the conclusion that thoughtful and hopeful isn't going to work for me this time.

This time, I'm not worrying about goal weights and rewards. I'm not spending a lot of effort posting about my program. My weight goal is simple: get to my target weight at some point in the future. Funny that my goal and my reward are the same thing. I have goals, but they're fitness goals. Get strong. Get faster. Do everything to achieve those goals and the rest just goes along with it.

Personal Information:
I already have good self esteem. I already think I'm beautiful. I don't accept that this is the body I'm supposed to have. It's not what I see when I picture myself in my own head. I don't believe that conquering emotional eating should be the be-all and end-all of my life. I like food and I enjoy eating it. My fat is not my enemy- it's only an inconvenience.

Other Information:
I'm not you and I probably don't like all the same things you do. I'm not married. I like to hang out in bars talking to strangers. I'm very close to my family. I go to church regularly. I don't think I'm a hypocrite and I am perfectly satisfied doing what I do.

Thanks for the advice! Laurie and I had a LOOOONG chat last night, as we are prone to do when I start freaking out, and she assured me, as you said, that it is normal to feel this way. I was (or AM) freaking cuz I lost a whole week to being sick. I know its all mental at this point. I am up to 11 miles. I have 6 weeks to add 2 (.1) miles AND I know Laurie will be right there with me since we are running the same half on May 8th. Its is (not so) simply a matter of believing that I can do this...

April 17th is my 5K date. Less then a month! AH! I did a 5k 2 or 3 years ago and it was fine. I didn't like the weather. I thought 33 degrees was too cold! I have an ap on my phone that talks to me and tells me what to do next. I like that. I didn't do so hot when I tried to do the timing on my own.

My sister is about to start training for a Disney Half 1st week of September so she said we can train together. So its kind of cool. But I'm excited. I felt awesome running today... I might go take a waog (walk/Jog) before I go out to the Poetry reading later tonight. I have till 7

Yes, I did enjoy the Disney Princess! How about you? I so loved meeting up with the spark team. Everyone is such a great encouragement. I just posted my race report.
