2013: The Year of the Weasel
I will be that weasel: cunning and fast. My name is Jen, I'm 37 and live in New Zealand. I'll be blunt: it's gorgeous where I live and if you knew what it's like you'd totally be jealous. I can see the water from the window where I am sitting right now, and if I wanted to I could walk for 3 minutes and go swimming (but I won't, because I am typing). We're surrounded by water, bush, and some awesome places to do any kind of sport you can think of - the perfect environment for ...
We're surrounded by water, bush, and some awesome places to do any kind of sport you can think of - the perfect environment for getting embarrassingly fit. On Wednesday, 16 July 2008 I stumbled on SP late one night while I was looking for a nutrition tracker. This marked the start of my mission. As we meander into 2013, the journey continues to be long and arduous, but I figure that if I persist in dragging my carcass along the trail I will reach glory eventually. I have always loved exercise and healthy food but somehow it all just turned pear-shaped...mostly it's wine and jelly dinosaur's fault. I fell off the wagon and found myself on the road with its wheels backing over my head. The wheel imprints remain on my forehead as a reminder but now I must move forward and hope that future wagons will not have such good aim, or will at least have softer tyres. Since finding myself in here I have run 3 Half Marathons, completed 3 triathlons, and learned lots along the way - whilst also realising how much MORE there is to learn. I'm currently chipping away at a degree in Sport & Exercise which I'm loving, but recognise that all the knowledge in the world doesn't mean anything unless you peel your arse off the couch and put down the gummi bears. This blog captures fleeting moments of my journey towards a jealousy-worthy level of fitness and underwear shopping glory. xxxxx ________________________________________
